I saw a preview for this when I watched the HHG DVD last night and it looks like it's going to be very well done. December 4th seems to be the date right now. :)

The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe was the first book I ever read that got me intersted in the Fantasy side of Science Fiction. I have been hooked every since. I cannot wait for the movie to come out. The trailer looks like it was very well done.

I also reccomend reading the series.

speaking of fantasy adventure- I think I'll pop in The NEverEnding Story in a few. I always loved that movie- that damn wolf gave me nightmares as a munchin.

Are they filming the entire series or testing out 'the lion witch and the wardrobe' to see if they are a success?

I'm not really sure if they'll be making it into a series. Haven't read anything on it just yet.

Based on the trailer I got the impression it has a Harry Potter/Lord of the Rings feel to it. It'll be interesting to see if it can turn out to be a LotR size series when it's all said and done.

I also would recommend reading this stuff too...and if you have kids it would make a perfect excuse. :) I had to read it as a kid for school and ended up loving it.

Just got done seeing an advanced screening. I'm much much of a critic, but I very much enjoyed the movie. very well done, and you can pretty much bring the family to see it.

whoever else see's this, tell me if the witch just keeps getting hotter as the movie progresses, or if it's just me being sick :)

Went a saw this last weekend and was, well, bored for the most part. The story dragged, the kids acting was decent, the special effects were ok. It tried very hard to fit into the 'epic' category but fell quite short. No were near the caliber of the Lord of the Rings which I felt it was trying to emulate.

    5/10

did any of you guys see the BBC's verison, it was produced as a series, i think it was done in the 80's
that was really well done, although the lion looked a bit too cuddly, still its worth a watch. it might be better than the movie, i guess i'll watch it before i make a judgment call.
the BBC also did a follow up - the silver chair, which was also captivating
you can purchse these on dvd now, but im not too sure of the price
