What type of connection would be best for sacd & dvda? My dvd player has a hdmi output but my pre-pro doesnt. Should I just use 3 pairs of rca patch cables? thanks

Not an expert here on this SACD stuff but here's my $.02 as I know it. For SACD or DVDA is just analog out or the 3 pair RCA patch cables. The digital out is just normal CD or DVD.

HDMI/Optical/Coaxial do not transmit SACD audio. So as disneyjoe said is correct.

    Thanks Tritonman,

Since I don't own a SACD or DVDA player I was working from what I understood.

The best way to hook up for SACD is with one left channel and one right channel interconnect of the best you can afford to buy. This will result in 2 channel sound which is the only way music should be listened to.

I just hooked up my denon 2910, and I thought it mentioned that it would transmit the SACD over the HDMI connection (but nothing else I own accepts it, so I didn't look into it that much).

I'm currently 2 channel SACD and I have the amp outputing to 7 channel stereo. (but I will probably hook up the 5.1 just to check it out. I still need to build my SACD collection up from the current 2 titles I own).
