3.1?
Hey guys I have polk rti70's up front with a csi40 center. The rest of my speakers are old onkyo's that are outclassed. Is it better to run with just the polks with my HK 235, until I get my other polks. Or is it better to run the complete 5.1 speaker system? Thanks guys

I would run the complete 5.1 setup. Unless youre listening to 5.1 music youre not going to notice much. Surround speakers dont reproduce a whole lot of sound so you can get away with a lesser quality speaker....for now that is.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

I would NOT run the 5.1 setup. Those onkyo speakers when connected with Polk speakers and into a harman receiver is a dangerous combination. It could fry your electronics.
just kidding. Run the 5.1 stage. They'll be just fine until you upgrade. -
that was just wrong aaharvel! lol I almost ran to the receiver until I scrolled down!ChrisPreamp: Anthem Pre 2L (Jan-Phillips Green) Processor: Marantz SR7012 Amp: B&K 200.5Streaming: Bluesound Node 2IDAC: Eastern Electric Minimax Plus4K Bluray: Panasonic UB820Mains: Von Schweikert VR2Center: Von Schweikert LCR15 Subs: 2 SVS Sb13 Ultra (HT Only) Analysis Plus Cables

I Agree. I would still use the other speaks for surround until you get better speaks..At least you have the front soundstage matched...Just make sure you calibrate as the onks are most likely going to be different than the PolksReceiver: harmankardon AVR235

That was pretty funny. I was about to reply, "What u been smokin"
Just set your surround about +7, I think their sensitivity is about 85-86db.
