Old SDA SRS...can you change crossover to 1.2?

If my original SDA SRS speakers cannot handle monoblock amps, can I upgrade them to the newer system the 1.2 has? I need to modify the crossover as well? This is a different interconnect not compatible in any way with the original SRS speakers???? I am good with a soldering iron and making wiring, should the need arise. I just need these old SRS's to be able to run on monoblock non-common ground speakers. I'm not selling these monoblocks, as I prefer the power handling and sound quality of monoblock designs.

Check out this thread by DarqueKnight. It will answer your question.
What you can do is make a non common ground interface for them. Go to this site Click on Publications and click on A1 interconnect instructions. It is just an isolation transformer to prevent a direct connection between the speakers.
What serial number range are your speakers? That will determine what you need to do. Many of us here have run amps in bridged mono. I was lucky enough to get an original Polk non common ground interface with my SDA's.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 * -
A little review here. In this thread, post # 6, BobMcG had said "All SDA-SRS channels have to have a serial number of 5001 or greater in order to qualifiy for AI-1 use." There is a chart posted in many of the AI-1 interconnect threads showing the serial number range for SDA speakers that cable is compatible with.
OK, I found the chart. Add a pic of an exposed isolation transformer.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 *
