I have a pair of Rti4's one is on the computer desk at ear level, and I am using the box that came with the speakers to stand up the other speaker(weird I know). Anyways will buying speaker stands improve their sound any?

If you want to get the best sound and imaging, yes speaker stands will make a difference. In my office/computer system I have a pair of book shelf speakers which sit on a dresser directly across from where I sit at the computer. I get some annoying weird harmonics around the mid-bass frequencies that I know would disapper if I had them on stands. Since it's a 2nd system I haven't made it a priority to get stands yet, but I know it will improve the sound when I finally do. You'll also notice the lower bass will have more impact too when on stands. I'll be getting some soon, I'm just not looking forwad to rearranging the whole room when I have to move the dresser's, which I use for storage, all around.
