And just think, theyre not broken in yet. Theyll sound 5 times better in about a month. Im on my 3rd set of Polk speakers now and one thing theyve all had in common is they really benefit from a good breaking in.

What are you powering them with?

I've got those same speakers in the box sitting right next to me. They are going back to the store because I changed my mind on replacing my db's.

You should really hook those up before replacing them. The DB's are the entry level speakers and the Momos are the higher end. I really think youd like those Momos better than the DB's. At least give em a listen before you take em back.

Im useing a c300.2. One for the components and another c300.2 for the sub. Macleod should i take it easy on the speakers for the first month or so then? Just dont wanna blow them. My gain on the 300.2 is at about 11 o'clock. Crossover is at about 100-110 htz. Is that cool?

    Thanks

Yeah, I would take it easy on the speakers for a little while. If you are running them through the polk cross overs then I dont think you need to set an xover on the amp.

1996blackmax is right, the db's I have are no where near entry level. I wish I could try try the momo's just to see. However, the store's policy is once I install them, I can't return them.

Technically youre supposed to take it easy on the speakers the first 20 hours or so but I never seem to make it more than 2 before I have to have a little more volume. Just use some common sense and youll be fine.

One thing though, that 110 Hz may be a little high. The Momos can get a little lower and you may like having them high passed around 80-70. I wouldnt go any lower than that tho.

Unrealii- Oops! My bad. I didnt notice those were the old school DB's. While I consider the current Momo line to be as good if not better than anything Polk has put out those old DB's are awesome and nowhere near entry level! ;)

They will sound bright at first but they will fatten up, I promise you. Plus make sure youve got the tweeters attenuator at -6 db.

I have the tweets set to -6 and my hu set to run them flat. (I don't have a amp yet, and my hu sends only 18watts rms.) I should be Ok. I don't notice any distortion.

I am noticing a big difference now. I was beginning to wonder though.
I got into the polk speakers because of two reasons. First, my friend Dave, swears by them. He has them in his truck and his home theatre. Secondly, Crutchfield recommended them. So with all these people raving about them, I was just a bit suprised when they were so bright. THANKFULLY, they have started to fatten up.

I have had a pair of these in my doors for bout 4 months now. I have these crossed over at 100 hertz. Althought they can handle 80 hertz on some music if you listen to bass cd's or something with strong bass like rap it's a little more than they can handle. I just found it best to set them at 100 hertz there for you can play all your music and not have to keep adjusting for different music.

But then you have a gap in your sound frequency... i guess you have your sub crossed at 80Hz...
