Just curious if anyone else saw Chris Issac on PBS SoundStage last nite. He put on a very good concert. He sang Roy Orbison's "Only the Lonely" and he is one of the few that can do it justice.

Sure it was a good performance. Would have liked to have heard Roy's song as I have never heard anyone do it justice.

Yes, I saw a few minutes of it last week. Soundstage is a great PBS show and I always check my local listings to see who they have on. Heart was on not too long ago, pretty good show as well. Another PBS show that has some worthy material is "American Masters" sometime in August they had a 2hr. documentary (that's usually the format) about the rise of Sun Records. A few years ago they assembled many artisits who were part of or later influenced by the Sun Records sound to do a benefit. Very intersting from a historical music persepective. Of course the other reason I was interested was because Jimmy Page & Robert Plant contributed, as well as many other great artists. If they replay it I highly rec watching it.

Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. I saw it and it was a good show, it always looks good in HD and the sound was good also!

Orbison was one of the greatest rock singers of all time and if my memory is correct he had a three octave range!
