I was reading some old threads and stumbled on to the Political Playground section. Ive been here since 2003 and never knew it existed.
Why was it closed? Was it for obvious reasons like too many heated arguments?

The whole idea behind the Political Playpit of Hell was because of Spiderman. In theory, he was NOT doing anything wrong, but the fact is - he was a jerk, the entire thing was made for him and he eventually was banned and with it - the PP (what a great name for it)...

Probably to keep things, here, on the lighter/happy side, like an audio board should be. 99% of the members come here for audio info and to have fun and having heated political debates only cause friction and grief among and between the members. That's not fun to most people. If I want to have a heated political debate, there are plenty of sites on the internet for just that. Or i could call in on some talk radio show.
There are members here now, that will most likely never be on friendly terms again, just because of that very thing. That's just sad.

thanks to you bringing it up- i've just now been reading the Political playground threads too. Until now, I never knew they existed.
You're right. I've never met a bigger troll in my life than this cat- except for maybe Eman. I guess I came to the forums after he was banned- so I'm really thankful I missed him. Whether I agree or disagree with him is irrelevant. Imo he is the defining reason why political terms should be banned when it comes to discussing current events in the Clubhouse section of the forum.
