Speakers for HT
Hi! I am planning to build a HT (5.1 for a start) and would like some opinion on what speakers I should get.
I have listened to Denon AVR-3805 with RTi12 and quite like the combination. Originally I was considering the Monitor series speakers such as M60 with the receiver. But when the audio shop let me listened to 2-channel music on RTi12 and M60, I was blown away by the RTi12. The M60 speakers are great, but it sounded too 'bright' or 'forward' for me. If I have not listened to RTi12, I may not noticed the difference. But with direct comparison to the RTi12, I am certainly convinced that it is what I would prefer.
But being new to all these, I am a bit cautious about getting RTi12 as I have read many discussions about difficulty in driving the speakers.
Unfortunately, the shop here does not stock RTi8, so I cannot really compare them. If I get RTi12 (as I really love the sound), does that mean I should get a better receiver? Or should I live with this receiver and upgrade to another amp later on to fully utilise the power of the speakers?
The thing is I am living in New Zealand and as such do not have as much options as the guys in US. It is very hard to find a shop where you can audition different brand/models of speakers. But as I am going to Singapore in Oct, I would like to get as much information as possible so that I can go for some decent audition in a short timeframe.
Also, I do intend to get a sub but have no idea where to start.
Would appreciate any help on the above.
Cheers!

This is the best thing you should do. The Denon will do just fine by itself for right now and later on down the line you can hook up a separate amp to it to drive the RTI 12s.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2
