FINALLY got the Sonus Faber Concerto setup and running tonight. Initial impressions are incredible. I'm going to let the tubes warm up for an hour or so, and let everything settle in.

Back end:
Anthem AMP 1 (mod)
Dodd Audio Reference Preamp
Cal Audio Labs DX-1 Transport
DPA The Little Bit Three DAC
Tara Labs Digital Coax
Signal Cable Silver Resolution Analog
Olympus Audio Speaker Cable
Tice Audio Micro Block Power Conditioner
Lane Leather Chair

Cheers,
Russ

I'll be interested to see your impression of how deep they go with your rig. In my experience they are absolutely wonderful in every aspect but bass.

ConcertoHWN is the SKU we used at Tweeter. They sound as good as they look. Heavy too. Those are the stands that were made for those speakers. They bolt on nice and solid.
Detailed, spacious and deep soundstage..full. I heard them on B&K 2 channel seperates. I've never experienced tubes, but I bet they'll be a nice match.
Those are some crazy thick cables Russ.

Out of frame. The room is 11x12 or some such. 1 chair, 1 rig - that's IT.

I've got a couple folding chairs on the back wall, for the next meet at Rancho de Audio (probably early Oct).

    Shack,

Bass update. Granted, I need to tweak placement, and damp the room - but it's UNREAL at the listening position (sitting down). Stand up, 1 step forward or to the side - it's GONE.

Could be the room, could be a hard speaker to place and I just got lucky. The room has 10ft ceilings, with angles on one side wall (all my rooms do), so standing waves aren't as much of a concern for me on any of my rigs.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Everything sounds better when you have a Lane leather recliner! Even Bose might sound good when I am fully reclined in my big over-stuffed Lane recliner. On second thought, even a Lane leather recliner can't make Bose sound good

There is a drape across the back wall, carpeted floors, and I'll tweak the front wall in time.

No, I don't get weird (or normal) echos.

I listened to my stereo one time when I was rearranging my room and all of my furniture was out of it. Sounded like complete ****. My room is alittle bigger then the one you are in but not by much.

Have you really cranked it yet? Or just easy listenin?

Baron, you might want to try starting your own thread to ask your question, and try it in the vintage speaker forum.
