It seems to be a topic that no one is really sure about (just from what I have heard) but the majority seem to say that speakers are fine around lcd's. I have my athena's sitting right next to my lcd and no problems so far.

I know plasma TVs are not affected by the magnetic pull of the speakers, but am not sure about LCDs. Sorry. I know I was of no help.Holydoc (Home Theatre Lover)

 I've not had problems with LCD screens, but something happened to my radio when I kept it on my sub to see what happens. ( it was one of those 8 digit screens )

The radio you are talking about is a completly different display from an lcd monitor.

Magnetics like speakers should not effect LCD monitors. I've got speakers almost right next to an LCD monitor at work and have no problems.Brian Knauss
