RTA IIT question

I've been quite happy with my system and don't feel the need to upgrade. With that said, I just found a local seller of some RTA IIT's.

$200 should get them. Is it worth it? I only want these if it is a really good deal. I'm getting married in less than a month and DON'T need to be spending any money on speakers.

I'm trying to figure out how to attach images and will do so once I can.

buy it now on ebay for $250 just a few days ago so i'm guessing it's not the deal of the century. oh well.

don't know why i didn't think to check ebay first. sorry for the useless thread :p

have the tweeters been replaced? If they are in good condition as they appear, and are ok sonically, then 200.00 is not a bad deal,IMHO

I'd go and at least listen to them and if they sound right, I'd say grab 'em and clean 'em up then let 'em rip. You'd have a hard time finding anything that could compete with those for anywhere around $200, IMO.

ND 13 is correct,,having, and currently owning two pairs, they are impressive speakers, especially for their age, if you do buy them ,look in to replacing the tweets, if this has not been done, you won't be disappointed

$200 in the used market can buy an awful lot of speaker. I've had 4 pair of those, including one pair of TL's. 1999 was the last time I bought a pair, and that was for $200. Not really $200 after I met with the guy, cause I ended up trading him a Dynaco ST-70 and FM-3 that I had. But the original deal was for $200 and I thought it was a fair price back then, but not now.

I'd save my money and wait it out.

From the pics you sent they look like the "TL" version which has the better tweets. If they sound good then buy them. $200 is a very fair price especially since they are local and you can inspect/pick them up. I would listen to them if possible that's just a good practice regardless of price. Nice speaks and you'd be hard pressed to find anything in the $200 range to come close to those sound wise.

So what have you decided? That $250 BIN doesn't include shipping which could easily add $75-100 to the price. Seriously $200 is a good price if they sound fine and are in reasonable shape. You don't get much for $200 NEW so I say go for it and don't look back. :D Looks like the pair on e-bay (which are not "TL's") are already at $305 plus shipping and there's 7 days left on the auction.

    sorry for the delayed response...

I didn't get them. I had pretty much decided not to when the seller let me know someone else bought them (this was a local craigslist seller).

I don't feel bad, I definitely didn't need them and although it was a good price, I'm sure something better will come along someday.

    thanks for the advice everyone.

Certainly not the deal of a century and certainly not like the deals GG gets but a good value nontheless. Not sure what you have now as far as speaks but maybe this is a sign that soon you will find a good deal on a pair of SDA's instead. :D

no need to say sorry. i'm glad another CP member got them. I don't really need them either. Maybe next year after I buy a house and have more room I'll look for some better speakers.

    Congrats, hope they sound great!
