Mounting a CSi5 Center Channel Speaker

Hello-

I just got my CSi5 from UPS the other day. I wanted to see if anyone had suggestions on how I could install the speaker above my TV. I have a LCD RPTV, so I can't put the speaker on top of the set.

Should I mount a shelf above the TV for the speaker? Can I mount the speaker on the wall?

Thanks in advance.
David

You could do a shelf; mounting on the wall would probably require some custom made brackets or something, since you don't want to mess with the power ports.....Any chances of placing it below the TV set? Many people do this and point upwards......

    HTrookie-

Thanks for the reply. I can't put the speaker in front of the TV without running the risk of it being "abused" by our two dogs. I think that I'm leaning towards the shelf route...I just have to find a place that sells shelves that will support the weight.

    Thanks.

    UPDATE

Well, I didn't have much luck finding a shelf that was wide enough for the CSi5. I endec up ordering a speaker stand from Circuit City. It seems on the AVS forum that a few other members are using this type of speaker "shelf" to support their center channel. I think that I'm going to give it a try while I look for a wall shelf option.

I also have that mount for my CSi30....It's worked great and actually provides enough vertical movement on those two support arms that I can angle the center to point directly at my listening position.

Two 40 lb. OmniMount universal brackets. Had a coworker do it with the old CS40i or w/e it was.
