Ahhhh.... stretchy pants... fun...
From the credits, it sounds like some thought was actually given to the dialog (the "he gave them his only son" line). However, I made the same erroneous assumption about King Kong (the "beauty is what killed the beast" line). King Kong was a video game occassionally interrupted by dialog, I sure hope Superman Returns is a good, smart movie and not a special effects demo reel. -
