2 10"s vs 1 with a c300.2

Hello all - lemme try this again...
First of all, I admit I'm semi-clueless in subs so this will be kinda long... I know two subs hit harder than one but here is my situation:
I have three MOMO c300.2's that I planned on pushing my 6.5 components, 6x9's and one 10" sub separately - all MOMOs, all new and still in the box...
Now I just bought another 10" and an enclosure for the two 10's (sweet deal that I couldn't pass up)...I have read on this post that one c300.2 does not push two MOMO 10's effectively...Now for my questions : )
1) With my original set-up, all I would need to buy is an enclosure for one 10... would I be satisfied with the other 10 sitting in my closet or:
2) Should I get another c300.2 (I can get one cheap) and chain them together (if possible) to push the two 10's? The deck I plan on buying only has three amp outputs...
The obvious answer to the subs is "the more and bigger the merrier" - I don't necessarily think so... I think the one 10 will complement my other speakers but I would love to feel it at times...
Thanx in advance.

Or buy a 500.1 and use it to power the 2 10's. That would be ab better choice as the 300.2 is a bit too much grunt for a single MM2104.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Thanx for the quick reply MacLeod. I can get a 300.2 for well under half as cheap...I got much more invested than I wanted however, one 500 would be better than two 300's in my situation???

The MM2104 handles 300 watts RMS. The 500.1 puts out either 350x1 or 600x2 which would be a perfect match for 2 10's.
The 300.2 puts out 450x1 bridged which would be more than Id be comfortable giving the 2104.
You could always put one of those 300.2's up on Ebay.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

U Rule MacLeod! I'll go with the 500 and sell one 300.

well more power is happy power though!
split the subwoofer output - run the right sub channel to one 300.2 with a y connector - run the left sub channel to another 300.2 with a y connector ... and adjust your gains down to keep the subs from being overpowered. then you have 4 matching amps, plenty of power all around... and absolutely no trunk space left on god's earth.
however, all things being equal - i'd do what macleod said. the above is more a backup plan if you can't hauk the one 300.2The Artist formerly known as PoweredByDodge -

Are the subs DVC? If so, with two, you can have a 4 ohm load. The 300.2 has very impressive output when bridged to 4ohms.

I just dont like using much more power than a speaker is supposed to handle. Overpowering a speaker is the only way to kill a speaker except for poking a screwdriver thru it and regardless if its a clipped amp sending a 15% THD signal at 500 watts or a crystal clear .004% THD 500 watts, a 200 watt speaker will be just as dead.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Yes they are DVCs. I appreciate you guys and your inputs. The audio stores around here (Aurora CO) could not give me a straight answer nor would because they did not carry MOMOs or kept trying to get me into buying their line (MTX, Rockfords, Alpine...). The closest I got to Polks was Best Buy who discontinued the MOMOs because he said they were to power hungry (the still sell Polks though)...

The best LEGIT online dealer is Sounddomain.com and they carry pretty much all of Polks gear. Check em out here. Ive ordered from them before and can vouch for them, not to mention they are fully authorized by Polk so you get their blessing, customer service and warranty.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Then no problem, the 300.2 even outperforms the 500.1 with a 4ohm load. A conservative 450watts to split between two 10's should sound great. -
Thanks - I'll try it!
