Transporter 2

Just saw this tonight and it kicked ****! Jason Statham is cool as hell!

The action was great and so were the fight scenes.

Dont expect too much realism though, this is one of those movies where the hero mows thru hundreds of bad guys without so much as a scratch but if you dont mind some fantasy its a great movie!

The ending battle with the bad guy is kind of a let down but overall it works.

Acting isnt too bad. No Oscar nominees in there but that isnt what its about. The plot is believable enough so that you can follow it but again, thats not what its about. Its about a cool as ice hero that kicks the **** out of all the bad guys and then drives off in his cool car.

If youre too leary to see it in the theaters it is definitely worth a rental if youre into action flicks at all.

I give it 7.5 out of 10!

    Was there a transporter 1?

Yup, didnt make much of a splash though.

The first half of Transporter 1 was freaking awesome but it started going downhill and the ending left you going, "huh?"

Id still recommend it as a rental just for the first half.

I enjoyed the first Transporter, but as Mac said, the last bit of it wasn't up to the rest, which was too bad because it could have been a great flick.

I like Jason Statham as an actor. Great in Snatch and great in both of these movies. I wish he'd get more roles. He's awesome.

Ditto. I think he's cool as ****. Doesnt look like a pretty boy but more like a manly man like Clint Eastwood or John Wayne.

Plus I like the way he plays this character. No snappy one liners or any cheesy puns, just a great look on his face like "now Im gonna have to mess you up.....youd better not wrinkle my suit". I love it!

Saw Transporter 2 tonight. It was horrible. WAAAYYY over the top. Bad, bad storyline. Ridiculously implausible. Leave it on the shelf at Blockflustered.

I watched it and enjoyed it. Over the top, unbelievable action but fun, just like the first one.

Movies like these, I expect them to deliver only one thing, entertainment, and it delivered. I don't go in expecting good acting, a great story or 100% believability.

I really liked the first one. This one I liked, but not quite as much. They took unbelievable to a whole new level in this one. The first one had lots of unbelievable over-the-top scenes, but they were easy to look past. This one had some that were so outrageous you just had to laugh. It's a fine line :)

    Still a good time.

This was a "fun" movie. Awesome driving and tons of action...

    But some things were incredibly...unbelieveable...

Like making a bomb hit a crane... haha yeah... right...

Yeah, I agree with that one. While Im all for uberbadasses that can do no wrong, flipping the car in mid air in time to pluck off a bomb with a crane hook was maybe a little over the top.

One expects an action movie to be over the top, that's why they're called action movies. But when it's taken too far, it becomes cartoonish, IMO. In this movie, the main character should have been wearing a cape.

    ***SPOILER***

I'm surprised no one mentioned the awful storyline. Why did the bad guy decide to "transport" the antidote by injecting himself with it? And how was the antidote extracted from him? And since the father was contagious and went to the meeting, didn't he infect those in attendance, thus fufilling the bad guy's diabolical plot? Should we assume that the attendees got the antidote in time? If so, how? Oh, and the end when the plane plunged into the sea from 30,000 feet in the air and remained intact while the fight scene continued to take place underwater????? C'mon, fellas.

I saw the movie 2 days ago and really loved it - the sound effects were amazing (given that this is a Polk forum!). I agree that there were 3 scenes which were way over the top and the movie could have done without - but otherwise the movie was great and the 2 cars (Audi and Lambo) were amazing.

watched it last night. over-the-top so much so that instead of being considered an action flick, perhaps they should label it 'science-fiction'. still fun and cool. what did that audi go through? concrete walls, piping, 50' drops and still come out unscathed? i did like all the surround music goin' on.

okay, one more comment, again....my sound cut out on me like 8 times. there'd be a moment of silence, then i'd rewind and play again and it did not happen. there was no clipping of amp or anything. didn't even have it turned up loud. even happened in dialogue scenes. scratched rental dvd? anyone else? dude at my work said he had the same probs with his transporter 2.
