Can a 6AJ8 be used in the place of a 6DJ8?
The reason I ask is I can get some NOS Teles real reasonable.
What other tubes will work in place of 6922s, 6DJ8s, and 7308s??

Thanks,
Noel

6N1P (rare russian variant). In some circuits 7DJ8 and 6ES8. In parallel filament circuits 6FW8 and 6KN8.

The 6AJ8 is a triode - heptode (6DJ8 is medium mu twin triode) used in AM/FM receivers and TV's as an oscilator/mixer - do NOT drop them in a 6DJ8 circuit. Now you know why they are so 'reasonable'. ;)

    Cheers,
    Russ

Thanks for the info. You know what they're going in, the ELP. So are any of those alternatives okay for the Dodd or should I just stick with the norm, here?

There are plenty of good 6DJ8/6922, just find them, and use them. If you give me till tomorrow, I probably have a pair of Amperex BB new in box I can unload on the cheap.
