Hey guys which of these would be a better option as a preamp. The outlaw used is not that much more, the only downside for me is I would have to come up with the extra money for an amp? What do you think? Thanks

well i bought my h/k knowing 6months down the road I would use it for a pre-amp. I wanted logic7 and that warm H/K sound so it works great for me. Some of the more experienced on here will say go with a genuine pre-amp- but i'm wondering how much better it would really sound myself.

Regardless- for $350 at jandr.com It's hard to imagine anything better for the $.

I have absolutely no plans in getting a "REAL" pre-amp. My make believe H/K does just fine. Welcome to the forum btw.

I got the outlaw and like it alot. Probably leans toward neutral in tone. for the price I dont think you could go wrong either way.

yep, I got one too, just won it. $267. I couldn't resist it at that price. Can't wait for a couple paychecks so I can attatch a couple outlaw monoblocks to it!

how much of an improvement could a more expensive dedicated 7.1 pre-amp be compared to one of these with pre-outs? Seriously.

I would take the Outlaw any day and have owned an h/k for years. That said, Logic 7 is way cool and I could not fault anyone for going in that direction.

It's the Harman Direct ebay store. Auctions everyday. Best bet is to watch, when the price looks right bid in the last 30 seconds. Took me about 10 tries. Dagame27 got lucky today. Sometimes the 630s are right ~ $420. A 430 sold for $325 today. That's a steal. 235s have been going from $235 -$290 before shipping and taxes.

    Good luck

Like Ron said, keep an eye out. Sometimes a certain day can be "slow" and great deals can be had

yea they usually have a few going at one time, just watch out bidding at the last second. If you do make sure you bid at what you are willing to pay, ebay automatically bids incrementally, so your bid would start off low, but if anyone else made a bid under your max, you would still win. That's the only reason I paid $267 instead of $220, somebody else gave me a run at the end! Harmon's direct store puts up other recievers as well. Check it out.
