Gas is high, what are you doing?

Gas is high, and yes, I do beleive we should all complain, it is outrageous how much they're charging us for gas, I don't care how much they charge in other countries, for what we've been paying and for how much it's gone up, it's totally unreasonable,
I'm trying to get my voice heard, I'm walking to school now and my part-time job, and I'm pulling my touring bike out to make the longer trips I can't walk.

What are you doing?

My bicycle is getting a lot of use to and from work. Not only does it save gas - it is about the only exercize I get.

When I do move closer to work, I will be biking on all days with reasonable weather. The savings in gas will quickly pay for the bike.

I'm commuting 90 miles each way until my house sells and then I will be moving. The commute is getting old fast and the current gas prices are making me consider a lower paying job where I live.

i only live about 1.2 miles from work. so it's a 5 min trip for me. then once there.. I have a company car.. so my employeer pays the high fuel prices, not me thankfully.

Unfortunately, there's not much that I can do. I live in a rural area, and it takes me about 15 mins to get to work. It's not a horrible commute, but the fact of the matter is that I have to drive to get anywhere. I also live on top of a big hill outside of town, so even to ride my bike into town would be bad because I'd never make it back up the hill!

I did have a trip planned for next weekend, but I cancelled that due to the gas prices. I now would no longer be able to afford the gas to drive, plus a hotel room. My girlfriends kinda pissed because I was supposed to visit her away at college. *sigh*

What have I done for the Hurricane victims? Donated money. Can't donate blood for medical reasons (low blood pressure, I always pass out).

Take the bus? Provide one for me, and I'll take it...

I don't pay for either of my internet connections....

The only thing, at this point, that I could give up within reason is my cellphone.

I have no choice but to drive to work , seeing that it's a 50 mile drive. If a job that pays at least what I make now, were to open up closer to where I live, I would definitely look into it. But until then, I'll keep on biting the bullet. I am trying to talk the wife into letting me buy a rice burner motorcycle to commute with on nicer days.

I moved within 15 miles of where I work, on purpose. Did it a long time ago. No real need to do anything right now. :)

Hmm. I didn't do anything. However, Dad bought a Jetta TDI. So, with 50mpg, that should help a bit. I drive to FTCC (community college) and then to work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. That's about 45 miles. Hopefully I'll be able to take the TDI. :D
