Polksters,

After reading so many great reviews on this LCD, I went to BestBuy to see one for myself. Another customer who had some experience with TV's was their and ajusted the picture and it was brilliant. I must say for 1998.00 this TV was awesome. I almost plunked down the money and purchased one, will wait for bugs to be ironed out. Compared to the Samsung and others who were set up right next to it I was really impressed with PQ, after the tweaks. If you in the market for an LCD the Westinghouse LCD seems to to a very good buy, resolution is 1920x1080, just awesome.

    Zero,

Your right on all accounts but for a HT or Family Rm/Den type set up I think it would work fine. Not everyone can afford the Samy, or Sharp. I have been looking at the Sharp LCD and they are very good also. I would get a plasma but worry about how long it will last. I had a RPTV and it was fine, but this new technology is giving me an itch.

Plasmas will last perfectly fine. Don't listen to pimply-faced kid at Best Buy! They're just trying to sell warranties. Most new, major brand plasmas are rated for 60,000 half-life and it is much more rare for us to get a defective plasma than any other type of tv.

I concur, as when I play my games on the LCD I get very angry at why it isn't crystal clear....I almost killed my dog the other day.

New technology, new gripes, big suprise.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

Sorry, but I wouldn't give $1000 for that TV. We sell it for under $2k and for the PQ, I'll pass. I've jacked around with that thing with a direct feed and no thanks. Even a Denon 2910 couldn't make DVD's look good on it. I'd spend the extra money to get an LG or Samsung. But then again, I refuse to buy LCD until they come out with the LED backlighting. THEN and only then will they have the color spectrum of Plasma.
