Nothing happened with kids in this case, but imagine my surprise, when this story hit the news:

And my daughter says, I know him, he was a hall monitor in my school.Win7 Media Center -> Onkyo TXSR702 -> Polk Rti70 -

Thanks alot George, I found 2 that were within 1 mile of my house and the rest that are in my county. I will make sure to let just about everyone I know about this site."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,
CAUSE I SPEAK OF THE POMPITIOUS OF LOVE" -
My wife checked our local list about a month ago only to find that a registered sex offender moved in about 4 blocks from our house. She thought the name sounded familiar so she checked her high school yearbook and found that he was in her graduating class!

No kids yet but something that has been bugging me for some time... These twerps get out of jail and back to their delusional way of life.
A few years ago after animals started receiving under-skin satellite transponders this option became available to be sewn into childrens schoolbags or clothing. I know the anti-progressive lawyers in this country would have a field day if we began implanting ex-cons with transponders... but where is the harm with ankle bracelets?
It was sad to hear about yet another child abducted, molested then killed, but the father of that Florida girl in a trailer some months ago brought some hope for me. I heard him on the news saying it would be his mission in life to get this sort of idea passed by law.
Recently I heard that our "unpopular" governator (according to the leftist media) Arnold Schwarzenneger is supporting a "controversial proposal to make convicted sexual predators wear GPS tracking bracelets for the rest of their lives."a local newspaper wrote:http://cbs5.com/topstories/local_story_241193006.html
When Dean Arthur Schwartzmiller moved into his South San Jose home, his neighbors had no idea he was a convicted child molester.
Some people suspected something, but didn't find anything when they checked the Megan's Law computer database.
"I went to the computer, looked up Megan's Law on the Internet, and nothing came up on this street," said neighbor Jess Berreda. "So that was concerning."
It's also a concern to San Jose police. Because of situations like Schwartzmiller's, they are now backing a controversial proposal to make convicted sexual predators wear GPS tracking bracelets for the rest of their lives.
"We already do the best job we can of trying to keep an eye on them, but technology allows us to do a much better job," said San Jose Police Chief Rob Davis. "We should also remember that the technology has been honed to a point where these are not so cumbersome to the individuals."
The proposal is one part of a tough new sex offender law being pushed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. San Jose police, the Santa Clara County sheriff, and the district attorney all said they were backing the measure at a round-table discussion with the governor's law enforcement advisor Monday morning.
"These are the crimes that cause anguish and ruin lives," said Karyn Sinunu, assistant district attorney.
But deputy public defender Brian Matthews says the proposal to track sex offenders by GPS for the rest of their lives could be a violation of their rights if they've already served their time.
"These crimes are definitely horrendous, and people are definitely hurt by them, but I think this goes too far," he said. "It would be tantamount to a scarlet letter, and we should not be doing that in this society. We believe in giving people a chance to change."
Additionally, Matthews says the estimated cost of $3000 per bracelet per parolee is too expensive, and that this is nothing more than politics.
"I think we've kind of gone off the deep end with the fear here, and we really need to be careful about what we do," he said. -
Last time I checked, public defender's are paid by the state (tax payers).
Why in the hell are they getting away with pushing agendas that are both counterproductive and offensive to the society of their constituents?
"$3000 per bracelet per parolee is too expensive" - WTF ? -
i kinda agree with the scarlet letter bit, does it really need to be as obvious and intrusive as an anklet? sheeyit, give em the implant, or at least the choice between implant or anklet... but i agree that there should be some sort of monitoring - at least until a psychiatrist (or two or three) certifies on their reputation that the offender has been healed...It's not good, very fundamentally simply not good. - geolemon
