Haha. Imagine that. I ran across a thead on it at the Klipsch forum. They're saying (and found something on that site that says) it will burn DSD (direct stream digital). However, the discs can't be played in either DVD-A or SACD players.

I was only impressed with the claim of burning SACD, not the PC itself, which I didn't even look at.

Although I will note that the "faster processors" claim is just silly... for a desktop PC, barring "extreme" gaming, no one needs anything near the "fastest" processor. How much processing does watching movies and surfing the net really use? Very little.

Well, considering the speeds available, I certainly would pay for a desktop today with a 2.8GHz CPU. (Unless it was really cheap, of course.) It has 1 GB of RAM; that could be good. The graphics card is also pretty good. However, only 320GB of HDD space? For that kind of computer? I'd need/want a lot more than that.

I'm not into "just watching movies and surfing the net"... what it takes to burn SACDs anyways?

I'm not into games, but i'm into computer graphics, modeling, programming and all that stuff, where every single details makes a difference... so a faster processor a must for me... not a silly claim as far as I can tell...

You know what is really silly... their claim about the PC burning SACDs... any computer nowadays can do it (processing power-wise)... that's just a marketing strategy to get your attention... and it looks like it really works!

I think this claim is BS. I have never seen any software that allows for decryption and burning of SACD's DSD stream. In fact, I've never seen a computer drive that will do anything except read the redbook layer of SACD.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

No such things as an SACD drive on a computer. I've put an SACD in my computer before and it can't even recognize the SACD layer (just the CD layer).

    Ditto.

I can play DVD-Audio on my PC, because I got a Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS.
