I think I have settled on either the HK 635 or the DPR 2005...

Can anyone give me any help in the matter... Just not too familiar with the digital receivers.

Thanks in advance

The 635 has a gutsy high current amp as opposed to the digital switching amp of the 2005. HK hasn't gotten the best press for their digital amps when compared to Panasonic or others. The 2005 could be a good choice and I saw them on special at Fry's last week for $299 which is a killer deal. I think it comes down to your personal sound preference.

I purchased my 7200 over the 2001, 2005 on sheer power and sound. I have since gone to powering my mains with an Odyssey Stratos amp, but use the HK for other channels.

Well, do you want power or a thinner receiver? The DPR's have the balls of an infant.

Pretty long thread that went all over the place, but there are some answers to your question from some that have the 2005 and 635. From what was said, the 2005 doesn't sound ball-less.
