For Sale:

Polk home theater setup that includes the following.

1 Pair-Polk RTi8s
1 Pair-Polk RTi4s
1-Polk CSi3 center channel speaker
1-Polk PSW505 Subwoofer

The ONLY reason I am selling is my wife is looking to redesign our theater room and wants to go smaller (speakers). All speakers are only 8 months old. The entire system sounds great.

Retail is close to 2K, I will sell for 1K. I am located in the Philadelphia area.

Sounds like you need a new wife, not new speakers.

    Try ebay.

Ok. It's comments like this I can't stand. What's more important: audio or your family (ie wife)? And if you think the former, just don't respond. There are priorities, and I sure hope family comes first.

    Russman,

No dice on the wife, she makes more money than I do:).

I was going to go the ebay route, but I am just not a fan of ebay.

I say you stop letting your wife design the audio system and you take control of it again. Now keep your 8's, upgrade your center and rears to the appropriate 5's and upgrade your sub to a nicer one. This way you can say "Hey, we have a perfectly matched high quality sounding system that can actually play all tones." Don't sacrifice your sound. Keep your speakers big, and go bigger.

Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener.

I agree with Toxis, interior decorating and good sound are at odds with each other by design. If you must go with smaller speakers, do inwalls that can be covered to reduce the "inroom impact" but don't hurt sound quality. Look into James Loudspeakers or Triad. Both are higher $$$, but worth the effort to do it right.

Pictures are attached. I threw in a picture of my components as well. I am driving the speakers with the HK 325. All components are filtered/protected by an Adcom ACE.

    Any questions, please ask.

Wil how do you get your RTI4's to shine like that? I just dust mine with a dry cloth.

(edit) it might be the dvd case reflecting off it. regardless they look good.

    aaharvel,

It is the DVD case reflecting. They are not a flat finish though, there is a little "shine" to them. They are in great shape, trust me, I baby my electronics.

The problem with RTi8's is that if the wife hates them enough and gets tired of asking you to sell them, she can pick them up and throw them out the window.

What you need my friend, are some SDA SRS.

so it's ok for your significant other to not support you in your hobbies? Bet you money says she either has 100 pairs of shoes or 50 purses that would be bought without a single comment but I'll be damned if you buy the set of speakers that you'll love, listen to daily (unlike her shoes she'll never wear), and own for MANY years. That's why I love my g/f and why she'll be my wife someday. She understands I have a passion and completely supports it no matter what. Hell, she's excited for when I get a HT room so she can help decorate it and make it fun. Wait... a couple getting together and having fun with this stuff? INTERESTING! :D

Toxis, hit the nail on the head, there are more shoes and purses then she knows what to do with. Do I complain, sure I do when I try to aviod a pair of shoes and trip on another.
