Hoping for the best for folks in LA, especially to Paul (PJDami) and his family.

Paul, our thoughts, hope everything goes better than the prediction, let us know if you need anything from us!
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

Yep, the pumps and the levee's will not have the ability to keep up with all of the rainfall,, was there one year during a tropical storm,, storm drains overflowed,, the rats came out, right before the water,,never seen anything like it ,,ever, my prayers are with everyone in it's path. Our family is/was planning on a thanksgiving @ dauphin island, near Mobile,, not sure now.

This went through Miami beach right next to my sister in-laws area where she lives, it was a cat 1 at that time and 4 people died.. It is a monster storm now with 55 ft waves in the center, 175 mph winds.... People are leaving LA which is the only safe option.. Just leave and be safe

we were hopeing this didn't turn and hit the tampa bay area, But then it has to hit somewhere else and that's terrible..

Thoughts and prayers for those people

Rats and moccasins will be looking for high ground as will everybody else. I hope that somehow both the human AND animal suffering can be minimized, but I'm afraid this is going to be a disaster of incredible proportions.

Stay safe paul & DK, I am going to say some extended prayers for all in that area.

One other thing, dad said that he heard that this is going to have a windfall effect on gas prices, anywhere form 50 cents to 1 dollar increase in prices at the pump. Better fill up while you can is all I can say.

OK, a couple of the posts are attempting humor and that's fine, but it's time to turn it off.

This isn't the first time these LA folks have experienced bad karma, just potentially the worst. Every other hardcore storm has always bent east, aside from the 60's, so feel pain for the whole area. Is MI and AL any less of a concern here? No.

I'm sure everyone is taking steps to ensure their own safety, let them worry about what they need to do, as they know best.

Pray if you want, the survival instinct is in the individual, not the forum.

My folks and sister/brother-in-law and their three kids all live 60 miles southwest of N.O. and have left the area. My parents went to Baytown, TX to my Dad's Mom's house and my sister/bro-in-law went to his mom's house outside Baton Rouge. They got the houses boarded up and took off on Saturday morning. Hopefully any damage will be minimal. When Andrew came through the area back in 1992 the only thing to happen to my parents house was a 20' section of the wooden fence between the house and the driveway got lifted up, turned 90 degrees and thrown across the street. I hope that nothing more severe happens or else I might be driving down there to help them out this weeked.

Good luck to all Polkie's in the path of this force of Mother Nature. I've been watching coverage all day and I'm just numb at the devastation. Anyone in the direct path of the storm probably won't be able to read these posts. But my thoughts are with all of you, and hope you come out of it with everything that is important.

    Best regards,
