MP3 to audio CD problems

OK, maybe someone here can help me out. I've tried to convert 3 or 4 mp3 files to CD, and every time they come out skipping and jumping to other tracks. The first track always seems to be fine, but any after that seem to be affected. I've tried a couple different programs for conversion, and still the same thing. I also tried 2 CD's I ripped myself using Cdex, and still have the same problem when going back to CD.
Any other ideas? My drive is a Plexor 712a DVD/RW drive. It burns everything else fine, including copying a CD. I'm out of ideas on what the problem could be.

Hmm. You've got me. Never really had much of a problem with ripping/burning MP3. Are you burning them as MP3? Or are converting to .wav and burning? Or are you converting to MP3 and then burning?

Simple question. If you had a cool million bucks, what would you do with it?

May be an issue with your CD-Writer.

I have had a friend have similar issues. It played/copied fine, but when it came to burning - it was always in a dissagreement.
    - Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit.

At one time there were a lot of butchered mp3 files posted to interfere with illegal downloads.

This shouldn't be the case with stuff I have ripped myself. And my drive burns EVERYTHING else fine. DVD's from my video camera, picture CD's, my backup recovery disks, everything. And, as I said, If I copy a CD to my hard drive and keep it in .wav, then burn it to another CD, it works fine too.

I've tried Roxio and the PlexTools. Nero doesn't seem to like this drive for some reason, so can't use that anymore.

Nero works the best for everything. You can burn MP3s directly to disk and Nero automatically converts them to wav fiiles. I've never had a bad disk. PlexTools is crap and I'm not too fond of Roxio. Despite that, most people have no troubles with Roxio software.

Make sure you have the IDE port for your burner set to the highest data rate have enabled DMA. Also make sure you have the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard. These are all things that can affect CD burning.
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

All hardware drivers on my computer are up to date; I check for updates once a month.
As far as Nero, as I said, it does NOT like this drive for some reason. It will not burn anything without an error.

This may clear it up, or not. But I had the same issue with burning discs on my computer. It turned out to be the CD itself. I was attempting to burn Audio Only discs that are made for stand alone CD Recorders. My CD Recorder went belly up and I had a lot of the Audio Discs lying around. Burning to them type of discs had the same problem you are having. The first couple songs burned were fine, then they started skipping. I went to a CD-R and they came out fine. So check if you have CD Audio only discs...

No, that's not it. These are CD-R computer-drive disks, made by Mitsubishi, which are one of the few recommended by Plextor.
