It looks like today's Fry's ad shows this receiver (based on picture but they don't specify model and say limited quantities on hand, etc.) for $99. Anyone ever hear this? I've been wanting to try a digital receiver out, but info is very limited.

I heard this receiver with a polk surround system at CC. Not bad at all. No pre-outs though, if that matters to you.
For $99, I would defintately check it out. FYI, CC was selling this for $349Receiver: harmankardon AVR235
Mains: polk R30
Center: polk CSi3
Rear Surrounds: polk R20
Subwoofer: polk PSW404
DVD: Panasonic DVD-S29 -
If anyone that has a Frys near them could check inventory and do a fellow Polkie a favor, I'd really appreciate it. I seriously need 4 of these for my next speaker project. I was going to go with used Panasonic SA-XR25s that sell for about $100 on Ebay, but if I could get these for $100 new that would be absolutely killer. I'll even compensate you guys for your time. You have my word they won't go on Ebay.
If anyone can/does get me one or more, please reply here or shoot me a PM.
Thanks! -

WOW! I'm not a big fan of Onkyo but that is a nice looking component- almost looks like those new H/K digital domain receivers. For $100 that's obsurd! -
Circuit city also droped price to $199. Combined with a polk speaker purchase I got 10% off my order so $630 for a pair of M70s is very cool considering I almost paid $800 a few weeks ago.
I listened to this at CC and the receiver was very good at moderate to loud volumes (Driven DVD) - only side effect was that the unit was somewhat hot. Have to hook it up to my monitors and try out at home. -
Eman,
you are right, the Onk was running hot in the showroom.
If anybody grabs this, they should give it ample breathing room.Receiver: harmankardon AVR235

Just called Fry's (took 10 minutes to get someone to answer my question) and indeed the Onkyo is $99. Unfortuneatly they are sold out. Going to try and get CC to match.Pioneer Elite VSX-21TXH
