I just watched this movie for the first time. Typical 80s movie I guess, but some really good guitar work, especially at the end.

I bet Steve Via loved getting beat by Ralph muchaco :D, and the way they made him screw up those simple arpeggios :D

He was such a Pu$$Y, they have been running Karate Kid on Showtime or HBO, and I was asking my wife what ever happened to him? I didn't think he did any more movies, but now you reminded me of this.....I don't know how I am going to get through the rest of the day.....

When this movie originally came out after I saw it I went out and bought the soundtrack, thinking all that great guitar work would be on it...if I remember correctly I was disappointed. I do also believe it was Ry Cooder who did the guitar work for Ralphy boy. I sold/traded that cd a long long time ago otherwise I'd pop it in and listen right now.

Ry Cooder did all the blues in the movie. Steve Vai (God) did all the guitar work at the end dual scene, for both his part and Ralph's.

I haven't seen this in forever (since it first came out on cable), but if I remember, besides some cool guitar work, it kinda sucked. I may have to watch it again.

A friend of mine owns the company that does his yard sprinklers, and said that he biched about the $120 bill at the end of the year to drain them for the winter. So apparently he's a little on the cheap side (or broke).

he's the same type of actor as tom cruise....they both follow a familiar formula....cruise had his biggest successes following the top-gun script...for ralph not-macho, it was those painful-to-watch karate kid fix
