    No affil:

Why would you replace a set of RT55 with RT800 though? IMO, at best, that is a lateral move, if not an outright step back.

Thanks for your reply. I saw those, but CP is always my first choice. 2 reasons: 1) my daughter is starting to walk and I am afraid that she may hurt herself (and the speaker) if she knocks one off the stands and 2) I would like for my mains to have the tri-lams (800i) to match my center and the RT55's do not.

    Thanks again- Greg

Oh, I see. Very valid reason. The RT55 does have tri-lam tweeters though.

Marker: The RT55i has the tri-lam, not the RT55 (a year older model).

gshisme: How much are you looking for and what kind of shape are they in?

    Thanks for your replies!

The RT55 DOES have tri-lam tweeters (also as does the RT55i), unless, of course, somebody switched out a set on a given pair of them.

$275 picked up. Condition is 8/10. Just a couple light wear marks on the top side edges from moving them around.

Marker, I'm an idiot. You are 100% correct. You know when you somehow get something in your mind and think that is reality...

I was thinking about my RT25s and somehow applied that to my 55's. Sorry, please accept my appoligy. I went and looked and was like...I'm a dork :-)

gshisme: I don't think I'm going to be in Jersey anytime soon, so I will defer to another CP member if they are interested.

    Regards- Greg

No need to apologize gacole2000, and you are not an idiot. We are all wrong occasionally, even me! :D  ;):p:o

If I'm not mistaken, your RT25 should also have tri-lams.

Also, if anyone is interested in gshisme's RT800i, I just wanted to say he is great to deal with and you can do so in the highest of confidence.

PS- those RT800i on ebay end in about 7 hours, and the price is currently at about $200. That would be a sweet price, even counting the shipping if you could swing them for around that.

    Greg,

Just beware of shipping those sucka's without the original packing. Especially when he states they will be "professionally" packaged. Hmmm...by whom? I wouldn't let anyone package my speakers besides myself. That extra care just is not there. And something that large, heavy and bulky tends to receive less care than a package that is easier to handle by the shippers.

Hope you grab a pair of 800i's. You won't regret it. They are everything the 55's are with a bit more bass extension.

And Marker, thanks for the kind words!
