any chance of breathing life into my BSR CDP?

As some of you may remember, I purchased a BSR 2020MKii CDP off of eBay, on the recommendation of the members here. Unfortunately, it worked fine for a little while then started giving me fits. At first, it was just a rubber band that needed replacing, then it stopped altogether.

If I put a CD in the tray and hit play, it'll pull the tray in, but not do anything (won't read CD contents, won't start playing, won't even spin the CD a little). I tested all the motors using a battery, and they all spin freely. When I close the CD tray with no CD in it, the laser doesn't light up at all. It doesn't try to find a CD or anything...

But when I turn it on or off, the laser will flash for 1/2 second, so I know that it CAN get power.

I'm guessing somethings amiss w/ the control board, but I can't figure anything out. I'm guessing it's junk, but I've been hanging on to it, because I paid $55 for it :(

    I have a couple things in the gear swap that will run circles around that BSR. Come on down.... :)
    CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

    izafar- great resource! Unfortunately, it would appear that this thing is beyond my scope to fix. Guess sometimes **** happens :)

    doro- I looked through the list... no prices on anything :( I understand the whole premise of the for sale/trade, but letting you know what I want would be much easier if I knew that I could afford it. For instance, I'd like those SDA CRS', but I sure as hell can't afford 'em :D
