Your best bet would be going with a amp that puts out 800 to 1200 watts. You can get a 1,200 watt JBL amp from www.crutchfield.com for $400. And yes they do slam like craazy. I have the 600 watt version, that I borrowed from a friend, hooked up to 2 12inch polk DX's, that I also borrowed, and it pounds hard. The sound is also prity detailed for a $400 amp. I also had it hooked up to a pair of 15inch JBL power subs, and it pushe really hard. I plan on using 2 of the 1,200 watt amps in my system. I am also thinking about getting 4 momo's, but I cant decide between my other choices.

yeah you can run them in seriese, but then the pair would only present the amp with an 8 ohm load. It would be better to set them in a parelel configuration. Then the amplifier would see a 2 ohm load wich would pull more power out of the amp, on some amps it would double there power. The JBL amp that I mentioned pushes 1200 watts @ 2 ohms, but it probably would only put out 300 watts @ 8 ohms.

If you can wait, look for the PG 800.1 ZX, dual built-in fans, 1000w x 1 at 2 ohms. Class A/B with subsonic filter, and all the trimmings.

Don't know if I'd go with the Pheonix cuz the Class A/B amps draw a lot on the electrical system. Probably be better off with a class D.

As another person with a JBL 1200.1 (running to a single momo, so 4ohms and 600W), it does slam pretty hard, i do have a hatchback though(RX-7) . . . sometimes i wish i had more bass but thats just when i need to feel it through my entire body . . . someday i'll be able to afford another mm120 and get full use out of that amp. Besides, i bought the amp for 315$, plus like 20$ S&H . . . you cant beat that. www.ikesound.com. Looks like the price has gone down to $285 since i bought mine six months ago.

No I am not a sales rep for JBL. I love these amps. You cant find a better amp for the prices they sell for. I have the 600 watt version. I hooked up my two 15's to it and went crussin for about 3 hours. I keped checkin it to see if it was getting hot, but it never did. In my opinion I think thats a great thing. Wich my friends rockford couldn't do. Of course now it can't do anything cause it died. I got my other friend to buy the 1,200 watter, and were hooking up 4 12" Polk DX's. This system will definitly pound. What do you think?
