Really... it is...

I was looking over some extentions you can download for this thing and was simply amazed...

Just a few of the ones I found...

1) Package Tracker - no more effing around with Fedex, DHL, UPS, etc - you just enter the tracking number in here and it figures out which company it is and takes you directly to the tracking info...

VERY cool

2) GMail notifier... this is extremely useful and cool...

3) Page Update Notifier... tired of reloading your websites? This tells you when something is updated! So cool!

4) PDF downloads - displaying them in the browser! This is extremely useful as I hate PDFs and I hate loading Adobe... sweet!

5) NoScript and Adblock - blocks ads, blocks BS, this just adds to the coolness surrounding Firefox...

I'm sure there many more cool ones out there... but these are the few I found by looking around - i was fairly impressed! :p

EDIT:

6) CustomizeGoogle - this is extremely cool, lets you customize google searches, and customize Gmail! NO MORE ADS ON GMAIL! SO COOL!

Just FYI, if you type any tracking number into google, I believe it has this functionality as well. I'll bet the Firefox extention uses this.

But I agree, Firefox rocks. :)

I also like the mouse gestures, i.e. hold right-click move down, then right to close window, up to create new tab, etc. Oh, and the little weather thing lol. Oh, and the media player built in the browser. Oh and zooming in or out on pictures. :)

I also like the extension that opens Firefox to the last page you were at when you closed it.

Love Firefox and it's tab browsing. I've always used the Adblock and it performs wonderfully. Looking forward to more add-ons for this browser keep'em coming. And Sid I'm looking into the PDF in the browser thingy...I hate viewing them in Adobe as well.

It seems when I loaded Firefox from it's home page I got the Adblock at the same time.

    Go to

Tools - Extentions - Get More Extentions

I found the image zoom thing and that is VERY cool and will come in handy one day... thanks for the recomendation.

I really enjoy NoScript and AdBlock. Takes all the BS out of websites! Very good stuff...

The Googlecustomizer is really cool for GMail users - it completely wipes out the Ads in your GMail, which is really annoying.

So do I. Opera has had tabbed browsing for a long time. And the best feature, you can set a page zoom level, this comes in real handy when browsing on a 1080i HDTV.

Opera was the first browser to have tabs and mouse gestures, I think it is way better than Firefox because you don't have to download a bunch of extensions because it comes standard with most everything you will need, plus Opera has a built in email client! All of that and it is a smaller download and is less bloated. This is a case where less is definitely more!

I just downloaded the Gmail notifier and Adblock and now the screen is blank when I try to check my gmail. Any ideas how to fix it? I've tried refreshing the page and it stays blank.

Edit: I disabled the adblock and it allowed the page to load. How do I keep adblock enabled and still get access to my mail?

Sounds like you have a bogus filter in your adblock. I had this happen when I imported some ridiculous filter list. Look through the filters and see if anything looks bad.

I attached my filter l ist, which I have found to be damned effective, if you want to try using that. Just go to adblock preferences -> import filters.

Is there a way to display bookmarks? For example on IE you can look through them on the left side of the screen.

I don't have firefox at work (working now) but it goes something like this:

right click on the area that has the back/foward button(toolbar), you might have to click customize or options, something like that..there will be a menu showing all available things you can add to the toolbar. Add bookmarks to the toolbar by dragging the bookmark icon to it. After that, it's the same as IE

    Hope this helps

Thanks! That is one feature I can't live without since my book marks are not well organized. Scrolling down through them just doesn't cut it.

Is there an extention that emulates IE?

Many of my work sites that I log into don't emulate right in Firefox because they're designed for IE blah blah blah.

Lemme know if there is, or where I can download it from.

    Thanks.......

Not that I know of, but there is an extension to let you right click on a page and select "Open in IE."
