That is the Chinese military weapons and vehicles.
Virtually all of it is stolen technology or bought from desparate Russian defense contractors with no money to stay operatiing.
The ships are direct knock-offs of stolen U.S. and British ship technologies.
The planes are stolen British, French and Swedish designs along with purchased Russian designs. The trainers are stolen US and French designs except for thr Y-7-H which looks to be a Russian knock-off. Take a good look at the KJ-2000 Surveillance plane. Then go find a picture of the U.S.'s AWACS.
The helicopters are reverse engineered Bell designs and bought Russian designs. The Russian designs are all at least 20-30 years old though.
The technology may be old in some cases but these guys are serious and what makes it worse is that they stole the technology, they didn't build it themselves. Might as well give the A-bomb to a bunch of spider monkeys.
These are scary folks over there in China and what makes it worse is that this ain't no movie. This is the real deal and they are a much bigger threat to the free world than N. Korea ever could be.
This is the kind of stuff they don't tell you about in the news. This isn't sensationalist, trivial drivel. This is real and it's scary. You think Iraq is bad, wait until China decides it's time to flex thier artificial muscle. Keep in mind too that this is just what China has published on the web. If they have this stolen stuff out there for public viewing, there is no telling what they have stolen and hidden behind closed doors. Weapons do not make a country a super-power. It does make them a very serious threat.

Sure they probably purchased a hell of a lot of the technology, but espionage is big business too. They sure as hell didn't pay us for any/all data they collected off of our spy plane! Espionage will always account for a large portion of military technology, especially in a country like China. Look at all of the knock-off's built by China's industries -- computer chips, electronics, etc... -- it's not just shoes and clothing whose designs they are stealing. China has made it a mission to compromise U.S. security at all levels. They activly recruit Chinese students to come here on student visas, go to school and then have them get internships at places like defense contractors and nuke plants.
I know for a fact that we have not sold China any planes yet they have knock-off of several U.S. war planes. I know for a fact that we have not sold any ship technolgies to the Chinese yet they have a weapons system on a ship that is so similar to an Arleigh Burke class destroyer it's not even uncanny.
The Chinese have stolen secrets from many countries and the U.S. is one of them. Remember that whole fiasco with Bill Clinton and a bunch of Chinese students here on visas? They stole secrets. Bill Clinton indirectly compromised the military secrets of the U.S.
The Russians are selling off stuff as fast as they can to fund the country so yes, China has bought many Russian pieces. Iran has nothing but French and Russian equipment and if they did sell it, they most likely violated U.N. armament treaties so China recieved weapons technologies through illegal means. The rest of the French and British and Swedish equipment knock-offs they have were either stolen or had through illgotten means. The only things they could have gotten semi-legally were the Bell and Sikorsky helicopters because they could buy civilian versions and modify them themselves to create gun platfoms.
You are being naive if you think that international espionage, spy games and counter intelligence are a thing of the movies and past. It is very real and it is a greater threat than any Iraqi insurgent standing in a desert pointing a gun at your army. It happens on a daily basis. There is constantly someone somewhere trying to compromise information and secrets in one way or another.
And yes, China has been stealing stuff for decades but not nearly as many people know about it as they should. Honestly, most of the equipment at that site has only been around in the last 15-25 years. That means that the compromises to get the secrets that pertain to those technologies have occurred in the last 15 years or less.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

International espionage is happening everyday and everywhere. And not just the Chinese, all of the so-called "allies" are all spying on each other in this country. I live in an area where it's a hotbed of international espionage activities....Silicone Valley, Lawrence Livermore Lab, various biotech firms, Bethel, UC Berkeley, etc.....this place is crawling with "intelligence officals". And forget about the students, you "recruit" the engineers and the people on the inside....especially those who are "native" to the host country. You heard about the FBI agent who was having a relationship with a Chinese double-agent for 20+ years, right?
Is China going to be a military threat? Not yet. Will they ever be? Perhaps, but they are a long ways off. China is a regional powerhouse in Asia, but the show of force is one for Japan, not the US. China knows it can not compete with the US in a military contest. There will be no chance of a confrontation with Taiwan being the flashpoint; both sides are bluffing and doing a lot of chest-thumping. Do you actually think the US will open up another front in the Taiwan Straits?
However, China is gaining ground very quickly in the economic battlegrounds. The current Iraqi war is a fight for the control of oil supply....and to control China's future economic growth. Connect that with the recent attempted, but failed, buyout of Unocal by a Chinese oil company and you can now connect the dots. BTW, it was just announced that China's biggest state-owned oil firm has reached an agreement to buy a major oil producer in neighboring Kazakhstan for $4.2 billion.
It's best to worry about the trade deficit.....but China is tempting me with Shanling CD players. -
