I've had my psw1200 sub for about a year and a half, I played around with the set and finally settled with an rca sub output from my H/K receiver to the sub, this sub is capable of more, mainly the set up, someone suggested I connect my l,r,c,rl,rr outouts to the bass management on the sub, the results was a louder deeper sound but the sub kept on making a clicking sound I'm assuming the the psw1200 was shorting out, is there a better way of utilizing the bass management system on this sub?

    Hello Jim,
I'm not sure I understand completely what is happening with your PSW1200. When you describe a clicking sound, is this coming from inside the sub-woofer? Does the bass output drop out? It may be that with all of the bass incoming signals, it might be overloading some portion of the sub-woofer's amplifier circuit. I know its tempting to feed all of the sound channels to the sub-woofer, but under some circumstances the total incoming audio signals could be causing amplifier protection to occur. But if you can let me know more of what the symptoms are I can try and offer an explanation.
I hope this is helpful information.
    Best regards, Ken Swauger

I'm directing all the rca cables from the 5.1 output from my receiver, the bass doesn't diminish at all infact it sounds fuller (louder) than just using the single sub out from my receiver, the clicking sound happens every ten to 15 seconds this only occurs during dvd movies not cds, I'm not an export but it sounds like it maybe the amp is shorting out, when I purchased the sub the salesperson he said I could direct all the outputs into the sub for (bass management)

    Hello Jim,
Maybe I should have been a little clearer. When I asked if the sound was diminished, I was wanting to know if when you hear the "click" does the bass stop. Is the bass amp going into protection? If this is the case, then there could be several potential causes, one of which could be simply exceeding the capability of the bass amplifier. In and of itself just connecting all of those inputs shouldn't cause an amplifier to into protection. For myself, I always advocate a "simpler is better" approach, a single connection from the sub-out to the LFE input. But, everyone evolves their own system philosophy.

Hello Jim, I agree with Ken- keep it simple. Maybe not the answer you want- a. I own the monster and I think that they should have stayed away from the whole input bass management consept. Used the money on a volume remote. Ya I know I'm full of good ideas. Polk needs to hire me. Anyone, anyone...............Later :D
