does anyone have any feedback on this player? there's nothing of interest on google. Is it one of the older ES models?
ANY feedback would be great guys.

wow, that looks a lot like my basement CDP. It's just being used for background sound so I have no REAL comparison on it but it's the CDP-XA1ES that I got from an old employer for $50 because it was open box with no remote. Darn. Works like a champ and can take a beating. I've had it for about 4+ years now... very happy!Never kick a fresh **** on a hot day.
Home Setup: Sony VPL-VW85 Projo, 92" Stewart Firehawk, Pioneer Elite SC-65, PS3, RTi12 fronts, CSi5, FXi6 rears, RTi6 surround backs, RTi4 height, MFW-15 Subwoofer.
Car Setup: OEM Radio, RF 360.2v2, Polk SR6500 quad amped off 4 Xtant 1.1 100w mono amps, Xtant 6.1 to run an eD 13av.2, all Stinger wiring and Raammat deadener. -
thanks toxis. The guy said it belonged to his father-inlaw and was never used, maybe 50 hours (for a 1990 model, yeah right but whatever) but hey for $40 who cares
I should get it Saturday. -

So i'm getting the player tomorrow and I have a question concerning D/A Converters on these older ES models (i don't know much if anything about D/A converters).
Are the DACs superior on these 15 year old sonyES Cd players compared to say the D/A Converters on your typical receiver? -
bump. just got it. holy **** this thing is built GREAT! I'm just so used to normal Sony equipment over the few years I've been into this whole stereo thing. It makes my DVD/SACD changer look like a cheap plastic toy.
I'm a Sony ES convert now. It sounds wonderful in straight two channel w/analog cables.
(edit) $40. geez -
