rg6 coax and sub power question

I plan on wiring (in-wall) my sub with rg6 coax and happen to have a spool of it lying around. I bought it at Menards a few years ago, so it isn't a high end brand. It is 18gauge, but has (40%) written on the cable jacket. I assume that this is the shielding percent? Will this suffice for my sub cable run, or should I go out and spend the money on a higher braid cable. My hunch is that it would work and I would not know the difference anyway.
Another question regarding the power to my sub. I have in the past connected the sub power (PW-200) to my receiver so that it powers on at the same time. Now, I plan on moving it approx 20 feet from my receiver so I don't have that luxury. For the sake of sounding lazy, should I just expect to power it on seperately, or does anyone have any suggestions here. We HT buffs like to keep it clean, simple and effortless, right?!

RG6 should be fine. Sub cables are the most tolerant IC's in a system- there's not much to make them sound bad.
As for the power question, does that sub have an auto-power off mode?Gallo Ref 3.1 : Bryston 4b SST : Musical fidelity CD Pre : VPI HW-19

No, unfortunately it does not have an auto-power off option....
