That sub couldn't hit 11hz. with any usable output on its best day.
If you want a REAL subwoofer, study this site:

I think of a LOT better ways to spend $1700.Check your lips at the door woman. Shake your hips like battleships. Yeah, all the white girls trip when I sing at Sunday service.

i think the supercubes are really nice; as the Definitive Tech speaker line in general. I love their philosophy on bipole speakers.
If you like it, go for it. -
A waste of money.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

or that too.
Hey Mark, I just picked up a sony 209es single disc player on ebay for $40 including shipping. I'm sure it's a good deal (considering it's $40) but do you have any experience with the older model ES single disc players from Sony? Should I connect it with high quality analog RCA's or a high quality Optical cable. I can get a good Vampire Wire optical for about $35 and looking to do just that. As for the player itself, the thing looks tip-top.
(edit) i'm not exactly crazy with the way my dvd changer handles redbook.

Beware of marketing... LSi7's can go down to 11Hz as well... You need some ground plane measurements added. Try getting a hold of "CraigSub" or "Ed Mullen" on the AVS forum (Ed doubles here as "Doc Spec") Both of them have all the info you need. There is no genuine justice in any scheme of feeding and coddling the loafer whose only ponderable energies are devoted wholly to reproduction. The Definitive Tech Supercube Reference is marketed with an Overall* frequency response. It's actual drop off point is around 30-28hz. In room it may be around 24-22hz, depends on the size of the room.
The Reference is nothing impressive, it is boomy, not musical - just very loud with a nice 50hz hump. I wouldn't buy it. SVS is much more impressive by a long shot, and for a lot less money.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -

It's a good player, reliable and bulletproof. I would just stick with RCA's. i'm a big fan of Sony ES transports.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -

I second that opinion. If you're prepared to spend $1700 on a sub, get a Depth from Martin Logan. 3 independently amplified 8" aluminum drivers firing in equilateral directions, effectively canceling internal cabinet resonance, giving you tight, accurate and deep bass. An excellent sub, highly rated in all the audio magazines I've ever seen it mentioned in. The Descent is the biggest one, with 3 10" drivers, but the Depth is enough for any living room, unless you need to know you have the biggest. The Descent is more like $3,000.
The Depth is far superior to anything from Definitive. I recommend looking into it. You can check it out here.Current System:

Yeah, that would absolutely slaughter the DT subwoofer. It would be more than you would ever need, and then some. Go for it!- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
