Passive radiators?

How do they work,do they produce any base at all?Never had speakers that had them,until now...sda2's.Just wondering what they're all about?

    They work like a port. That's all I know :)

    an expensive port that you can tune, to a degree, by adding weight... i prefer ports...

    Passive radiators do help to fill out bass. They basically work out of phase with the active drivers, driven off of the backward bass waves of the active drivers. As was said, similar to a port. Supposedly eliminates the problem of "port noise" but a well-built speaker with ports does not have this issue either. It's simply a designer's preference. One is not necessarily better than the other, but they both have the same purpose.
