two and a half hours to go on an effen RIDE?! are you on CRACK?

Come out here to PA... Knoebels Amusement Resort, free admission, free parking, and if you get there in the morning, extremely short to NO lines...
    Ludicrous gibs!

Too many trips to disney land with the kid, and I tell you I have a better time at Knotts Berry Farm, or as my then 4 year old(now 8) said after I told him where we were going. "Knott Very Far", what can I say, he hates sitting in the car...."We there yet?" Maybe I need to get one of them nifty DVD systems in the car....

I always liked Epcot myself. I loved the ride up the Epcot ball. AND the mini-play of our Founding Fathers.

Sorry to hear about your bad trip.

I went my senior year of high school. It was in December right before Xmas. I went with a bunch of other really good distance runners. That was so much fun. Shortest lines of the year, and all my buddies were in great shape, so we literally ran from ride to ride with the greatest of ease. I must've gone on Space Mtn at least 15 times, plus all the other stuff.

I have absolutely no desire to go to Disney Land. For one, I care not a thing for amusement parks, rides, etc. So, I'd kinda be neutral about it. However, it's Disney. I don't like Disney's stance on anything. I'd hate to give them a penny. So, I strongly don't want to go.

exactly. I don't want kids but if I did- watching their little faces beam when they walk through DisneyWorld would be priceless.

I've been going to disney since the 70s (world, not land) and I have to say it is quite a place. When it's done disney, it's done right. It's not nearly what it used to be. They used to go way out of there way to help you have a good time. Went in high school one time, and we were smoking a joint by space mountain when a janitor guy came over. He said "you can't do that here!", "go over there, I'll raise my broom when someone is coming". Now that was service.

I'm not a big fan of "disney" as a company either, but audiobliss, you should give it a try. The way they put together a ride is unbelievable. Even the lines are entertaining (but not for 2 hours). Tower of Terror at MGM, Mission Space at Epcot and Space Mountain at the Magic Kingdom are some of the most impressive things you will ever see.

But you should never go on-season. I've been twice like that, and it's not worth the wait. Off season and you can ride everything as many time as you want.

I eat at Wendy's cause Dave Thomas APPEARS to have been one right dude. I patronize the Disney Company out of respect for WALT Disney's memory. Sure it bothers me that a damn clown faced vampire like Michael Eisner is getting a small piece of my action, but that's just the way it is. Plus, the kids dig it.

America - Mom, apple pie, Walt Disney, Davy Crockett.......

There's some stuff that is totally and undeniably American, and you shouldn't screw with it.

Glad to hear you had a blast beardog03. I love the place.

I'm on my 11th year of having an annual pass for Disneyland. My wife, the same, and my daughter, she's on year 5. We love the place and live only 20 minutes away so we go on average 3x's a month or more. We can go whenever we want, the pressure is off and you can sit back, enjoy the food, fun and lines are of no concern. If we want to ride something we either will wait in line or get a "fastpass". Many times we go for some eats, walk around and ride nothing.

There are always those stressed to 'do everyhing' in the park for the day, it cannot be done and thus the unhappy people you encountered.

By the way, how was the new Space Mountain? It just reopened not but 3 weeks ago after being closed for 2.5 years and we have not been on it yet.

I was an usher at the Kingsway movie theater in Brooklyn while I was in high school, and got fired for getting lucky up in the balcony one Saturday afternoon while on duty.

Back to the regularly scheduled programming.

If you know how to take advantage...Disney knows how to offer the complete package. They really take care of the details. The last time I went, once I checked in at the airline at home, that was the last time I had to deal with my luggage (other than to unpack in the room) till I retuned. In Orlando, I got off the plane and onto a Disney bus...went to the park and when I got back the luggage was in the room. When it was time to leave simply got back on the bus to the airport (with an airline boarding pass in hand - so I never had to stand in line for anything). You can get by with never having to carry cash or CCs. They will deliver anything you buy in the parks to your room at no charge. We bought a dining plan that cost appx. $35 per person per day and ate meals that would run $100 - $150 per person if we were paying out of pocket. If you go to Disney and stay on their properties, use their dining facilities, transportation, ect...they generally take great care of you. I have been several times and each one was excellent service and excellent facilities. Now if I could just figure out how to get rid of all of those other "tourists"...
