Since when does $1000 + ship = Shipping is $1000?

You're a bright dude, tell me you are just chewin' the fat here.

I'm asking $1000 for the gear, plus shipping. Tell me if it reads wrong, makes perfect sense to me, but then again, I'm an odd duck.

If I didn't already have a HT receiver I'd be all over this. Come on, you think a HK or Oink or Denon is in the same league as this? Not...

Who wants to upgrade? Here is your shot to get the High End on the cheap.

Haha. You just said in your post that you'd buy 'em if you didnt' have a receiver already. That kinda implies that your receiver is as good this pre/pro combo. And you go ahead to say that's not the case. Kinda contradictory. lol

Just thought that was kinda funny.

If I thought I'd have a chance in hell of slipping this by the wife, I'd do it. Only problem is it looks like it costs more than the price...

Then of course I'm saving my pennies for something else...

My predicament also. Plus i would have to go out and by an amp or amps that are on par with these pieces. ;)

    Russman,
So for the preamp, how does that work? Is it a 5 channel preamp? Can it be used seperately or is the pre/pro combination a "must be together to work" thing?

The preamp works on its own, as a 2ch, prologic, or digital ready full balanced preamp. The processor was made a couple years later as an add-on, for built in DD/DTS 5.1 processing.

I didn't even think about the value of the thing as a straight 2ch preamp.

    Cheers,
    Russ

Russman do you know by chance if there is a more updated add on processor available with some of the newer 6 and 7 channel formats?

I doubt it, I think Harman Speciality Group bought Madrigal/Proceed (and Mark Levison), and shut Proceed down.

Why would you want more speakers to the side and behind you, than on the front stage? 7.1 is 2.0 too much, imo.

    Cheers,
    Russ

I used to think that too till I actually tried it, especially like some of the "forced" 7.1 formats each company now has, ie. Denon's 7.1 "widescreen" mode.
