Was out on the road all week doing business till yesterday, which just happened to be my birthday. When I got home the Dodd MLP had made it to the house just in time.

Of course I need to spend some serious time with her, got her hooked up today. Gary Dodd puts 100 hours break in time on each piece, so its not like the piece is brand spanking new and in need of serious additional break in.
Anyway, he customed up the face plate and sides on this one for me to match the Bello rack and have to say I am pleased with the look. Nice Cherry wood. I had the side wood pieces done in black to match in with the rest of the rack gear. I had really intended to have Jesse do the finish but Gary convinced me he would do me up right and he did, I am sure Jesse would have done a great job also.

The Reeltime Rig needed help musically. It had gotten to the point that I just would listen in the Woodshed when doing any type of serious listening session, the ELP in the Woodshed rig just blew the ONK away so badly it was tough and man that sucked since the SRS-SDA were not getting their justice.

The unit ships with the Sovtek 12ax7LPS, I was suprised at the dynamics this little tube has. The SRS never sounded better, good deep bass extension, which was what I really needed, the ONK just could not cut it without help from the subs, and as most who know me realize I like my 2 ch. 2.NADA. The soundstage is even wider with a very nice highs, but I can tell I now need the replacement tweeter. So all in all it was worth the wait for this unit. Thanks to Russ (hoosier21) for letting me take over this sale from him.

Here are some shots for the peeps.

My MLP was at home waiting for me when I got home from work this week but I don't really have the time to check it out right now. I just got done working on the 2.3s crossovers and will finish them up next weekend when a couple of more parts come in.
I could hook it up to the Carver Amazings but I have no time to listen this weekend anyways so I'll wait until the 2.3s are done.

Suppose I could go open the box beyond the top level now though........ :)

:) Oh, yea, sounds good Russman. Gary already warned me about overtightining those top screws, he knew I would be rolling, although the stock tubes in this unit are alot better than the chinese shipped with ELP.

You guys getting ELP's are in for a treat. Doro first turned me on to the Dodd-ELP quite a while back and I nabbed one off the Gon. Outstanding little unit with very big sound, wide bandwith and well built, all you might want to do is look for some tubes, lots of choices, I have liked the JAN and the JJ's, they are not expensive and a place to get rolling, Amperex 7308's are also very nice but on the pricey side.

Thanks for the comments guys, sharing a new toy with others is half the fun.

Oh yea, BTW, in reference to another thread, Russ and George, freakin look at me, I am just a larger more experienced version of Troy, so if he kicks it, neither of you will even get close to Wendi.

The 12AX7LPS are no slouch. A lot are touting them as the *best* current production AX7 out there.

    Steve,

Anytime you feel like spending some time in the Golden Isles of Ga come on up and we will kick it. Now that you mention about hearing the rig, it really has had some big changes since you were last here.

You keep telling yourself that lie long enough, you just may begin to believe it yourself.

Now if Troy kicks and you want to just drop in on US for a visit, I drink Gosling's Black Seal Rum.

A larger version of Troy huh? That's a sci-fi movie looking for a screen. A WIDE screen to boot.

Troy at least you know she'll be well cared for after you're gone ;)

Three PROPOSALS to Wendi? I think it's about time the big boy himself chimed in to say who started what with who. THEN maybe you wannabe's can go grab yourselves a handful of chicken livers and a photo.

I figured her for maybe Virginia Slims and Aquanet. But hey, I am very liberal when it comes to stuff like that. Oh, HEY, I JUST GOT IT! The Luckies and Brylcreme thing. Okay, everything's the way it should be.

She could get in here on her own and break some hearts, I promise not to laugh. Yeah, not too hard at least.

Sounds like a candy machine getting emptied with all the Sabre-Rattling.

For surely the first cast gaze upon her line for one is enticing but not in itself an entitlement to proclamation or bellowing chuckle. The endurance to finish the climb is not enough as many have fallen upon the desent, there is no defeat in being simply called later to the field, lest this belle be not forgotten nor her soil spoiled would I rise again no matter the tobacco leaf.

    Again? Slowly. In English.

Okay, all you guys who use Brylcreme (like me) and smoke non-filtered Luckies (like me) raise your hands. Let's see....... none? No, you guys that are running out to 7-11 and CVS to buy your first tube and pack, that doesn't count.
