Attention computer experts....

I've got a scenario I need some suggestions with.

Lets say I downloaded an audiobook from iTunes. I just looked at one and it was like 7-1/2 hours long.

I could download it and put it onto the iPod, but lets say I wanted to burn it onto a CD-R (or most likely many CD-R's).

How would you go about burning a huge file onto multiple CD-R's?

the way i do it is by putting it in its own playlist. when you click the burn cd circle on the top right, it will say something along the lines of what you are trying to compy will will require more than one cd then give u 2 options, make audio cd's or dont burn. just click the make multiple cd's and i think that should work

Sweet. So you're saying iTunes is capable of burning a large file onto multiple CD's all by itself? That is really neato torpedo.

I recently backed up a bunch of digital pics onto CD-R. It was about 5 discs worth. The burning software will tell you how many CDs it will take before you burn, then it does the rest..just hang around to insert the CDs when the program asks..

The difference here is the audiobook would be 1 large file. Your pictures are multiple files. My confusion is how does the program break the file into multiple smaller portions? From what techmo is saying, it sounds to me like iTunes will break the single large file into multiple smaller files. Is this correct?

ohh good point, not sure. another idea, not sure how difficult but import into garage band, then cut it up yourself, very easy to do. then save each one seperate.

Although my pics are diff files, they were all in one big folder. I just selected the folder and the software told me how many discs it would take. After that, I started the burn. I'm not sure if this would be the same with itunes..

i despise itunes and congratulate you on getting your book as far away from it as possible... apparently apple has never heard of consumers' fair-use rights... a-holes...
