Here's a 65 Coronet with a 440 and 2 4-barrel Webers, 727 torqueflite, 3.91 gears in the Dana. Dude wants to trade this in on a new Charger R/T . Runs 11's on 9" slicks on a mix of pump 93 and leaded fuel.

Dude=crazy.
I wonder, does he actually drive that thing much? If he does, maybe the fuel prices are getting to him. I'm sure 6 m.p.g on premium @ $2.60 would get you down after a while
Seriously though, if I had that car and simultaneously thought I had to have a new Charger R/T (which I wouldn't), I think I'd find some room in the garage and buy a car cover, and figure some other way to fund the new car.
This coming from a car-nut, BTW.

He'll get a lot more selling it outright. Nice car!!!Political Correctness'.........defined

Nice, very nice vintage tin. Sometimes, even if you have the means, you just lose the will to keep occasional drivers like this. I agree with F1, hard to believe he'd get what it's worth from a dealer.

Maybe in the Gary/Chicago area, I don't know. In the Indy area and the county I live in (Henry), we don't get tested ."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

Damn sweet car.
Nothing like a good 'ole V8 with a nice broken idle.......slam down the pedal...flying down the track at WOT (drooling) ........oh wait back to reality..
I have a book that has all musclecar ads from the the '60s - early '70s. These cars sold for around $3k back then and are worth so much today....Receiver: harmankardon AVR235

This is a driver, not a concours level restoration. Street legal, but with no PS or PB, the car isn't gonna win any road course races. Straight line performance was all that was intended. I drove it, and it runs great, but hated the Hurst shifter.
I estimate the cars value in the $12,000-$15,000 range on the wholesale market and in the $15,000-$20,000 range retail. If it were an original (all numbers matching), unrestored car, in excellent shape, it would be worth in the $50k-$75k range, depending on the market at the time and how bad someone wants it. If it were restored to original specs and in concours condition it could bring $45k-$65k, but there again, the market and buyer's yearning will dictate alot.
One thing the guy did that helps the car tremendously, was to install disc brakes in the front, though they aren't power. If I were to buy this car, the first thing I would do would be modifying the steering and drop in a rack. That would help in the handling department."SOME PEOPLE CALL ME MAURICE,

Manual disk, ugh. It can work OK as long as you get the hydraulic pressure high enough but no fun to drive in traffic.
I had a large cam in my '72 Chevelle with power brakes and used a vacumn reservoir for a reserve. I cruised all over in that car until the last mod which increased the port flow and upped the compression to a true 13.5 to 1. After that it was strictly 108 octane leaded racing fuel at $3.50 a gallon (back in '95). I sold it shortly after that and bought an Altered.Salk SoundScape 8's * Audio Research Reference 3 * Bottlehead Eros Phono * Park's Audio Budgie SUT * Krell KSA-250 * Harmonic Technology Pro 9+ * Signature Series Sonore Music Server w/Deux PS * Roon * Gustard R26 DAC / Singxer SU-6 DDC * Heavy Plinth Lenco L75 Idler Drive * AA MG-1 Linear Air Bearing Arm * AT33PTG/II & Denon 103R * Richard Gray 600S * NHT B-12d subs * GIK Acoustic Treatments * Sennheiser HD650 * -

Now I would love to have that red. Absolutely awesome car!
However, nothing nothing, in my mind, can touch this thing. A spectacular machine! 430 hp and 450 lb-ft torque launching it 0-60 in 4.1 seconds, 0-100 in 9.4 seconds, the 1/4-mile in 11.8 seconds at 122 mph!!!!
The ultimate car - ever!!George Grand wrote: »

Assuming I win the lottery and end up having ridiculous amounts of money to throw into a project, I'd be right proud if it came out exactly like this one.

Man, a 572 in a Camaro....sweet!! And look at how wide those rear tires are!! I've never seen any that wide before! Seriously though, how wide do you think they are?George Grand wrote: »
