Polks @ Fry's
Was in Fry's Sunday and noticed that they weren't carrying the Lsi series any longer?? They had R series and RTi series, but no LSis anymore. They are carrying the JBL Northridge and Infinity Primus and Beta series now. It looked as though they were phasing out the Tannoy Fusion series as well.
Speaking of the Tannoys, does anyone here have any experience with the Fusion line? I can get a decent deal on these, are they nice speakers? I know they make nice gear, just don't know anything about the Fusion line.

There aren't any Fry's where I live, but doesn't Fry's typically sell products well below MSRP? I would think that wouldn't make Polk or their other retail partners very happy. Of course, they would have known about that before selling them there, plus Fry's still has RTi's.

Last time I checked, my Frys had the LSi. Ill take a look again next time I go there.Magico M2, JL113v2x2, EMM, ARC Ref 10 Line, ARC Ref 10 Phono, VPIx2, Lyra Etna, Airtight Opus1, Boulder, AQ Wel&Wild, SRA Scuttle Rack, BlueSound+LPS, Thorens 124DD+124SPU, Sennheiser, Metaxas R2R

I noticed that also last Friday on my trip to Fry's. No LSi's anywhere.

Ditto. I've noticed this at all 3 Fry's in Houston.
I'm kinda glad about it. -

I wish I had a Fry's near me. They seem to be giving away Polk gear all the time for a song and a dance!polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

That would still be sweet. I plan on using the R's as surrounds. CC has em for $100-120 but Ive heard of Frys having them down to $30 each or something.
I guess I could always order them off their website but I prefer not to.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

Word of caution-if they appear at Outpost on sale, Fry's won't honor it instore. Fought this battle and lost... -

I heard some of the smaller Tannoy Fusions run off an Adcom amp in a dealer near where I live. Wasn't too impressed. They had a nice smooth sound, but the sound stage was pretty thin. There are other speaker manufacturers out there who can pack a lot more sound into a speaker of that size.
Still, what matters most is what you think of them, and if you like what you hear, and can get them at a good price, why do you need us to tell you they are a good buy?
In a smaller room, they would probably perform like some decent bookshelf speakers. That is my assessment of their sound. Very musical though.Current System:

Very musical though.
I wasn't asking about pricing or whether they were a good deal, sorry for any confusion. I wanted to know if anyone had ever had more than a 5-10 minute in-store demo or not and what they thought of the sound and maybe what other brand they would compare the sound to. Also I would be looking at either the smallest tower with the 1 driver and tweeter (R30 type) or the 2 driver/one tweeter (R50 type) tower. So you think that the BS you heard was very musical??? That's what I look for, seeing that I'm 80% music and 20% movies.

The LSi's are being swapped out because the wood grain finish on older version of the LSi's looks cheap and where the wood grain connects to the speakers, there's a visible separation. The newer version's of the LSi's has a more smooth, clean, continuous look to it.
From what I'm told, the packaging for the old LSi-12's and the new LSi-12's were identical, except for a yellow sticker on the bottom-side of the packaging to indicate it was a newer model. Unless every salesperson in the country knew to look for that sticker, both models would be sold to the customer. Imagine going home to receive one old model and one new model with two different style finishes of the LSi-12's. So.., polk recalled all LSi's to sort out the mess. Atleast, that was what I was told at Fry's when I had to disconnect and package every single LSi speakers in the store to be sent back to polk. -
LSi-12?
Is there a speaker in the LSi line up that I'm not aware of? -
LSi12 is a bookshelf with 3 5.25 drivers and a vifa tweeter.
