hey guys
i need some help on building a sealed box for my car. i am putting two alumapro 12s in my car. they are the alusonic ex model. they need 1.1 cubic feet each. if you know where i can find some sub box plans that would help a lot.
thanks

    sealed box is very easy.

    1) measure your trunk, so you know maximum dimensions
    2) subtract 1.5" from each
    3) come up with some combination of numbers that will a) multiply out to 3801 or very close to that - i'm talking 1/4" resolution and b) will actually fit the subs side-by-side and will have at least 1 inch of clearance behind the magnets (MINIMUM).
    4) those are your internal dimensions. you'll be using 3/4" MDF, so come up with the measurements of the six pieces of wood such that the smallest pieces (probably the end caps) fit inside the larger pieces.
    5) cut, paste, screw down, caulk, wait, mount, enjoy

or, check out the manufacturer's website...

get some old aspenite, some elmers white glue, and some roofing nails.

then cut the aspenite into 6 equally sized 15 x 15" squares.

glue them together and hammer in the roofing nails ... 1 inch between each nail, along every side.

then use a circular saw to cut a round hole for your speaker.

use 2 inch long 3/4 inch wide lag bolts to hold your sub in the box.

i find that old telephone line makes great subwoofer speaker cable.

Didn't your subs come in a box? You know, with the Alumapro logo on it and what-not. Just seal that up and cut a couple holes in it. Presto... a custom box with all the information for your sub already on it. Don't worry, it's supposed to sound like that. ;)

Oh, btw... it'd probably help if you told us what kind of car it was for...

Colnel Sanders says - "that son of a **** cochise has been eluding us for years... we finally got him and are now chaning our name to "kentucky fried chicken" - so that no one will ever find out what we were really doing - muahahah! *evil laugh*"

... all i gotta say about KFC is this.

I drop my best friend off at his new home in chicago - lil suburb outside of it actually. and we're scoping out the neighborhood to see if its safe to leave his cars outside or if he needs to rent a garage... it's looking "not so bad" and we decide to grab lunch - hit hte main drag and we see this, no word of a lie... "Autozone" - "KFC" - "Long John Silvers" - some generic pawn shop - anther "KFC" but they had the old sign that still said Kentucky Fried Chicken - and an outdoor grocer who was selling corn and watermelons.

... he rented a garage over the cell phone 30 seconds later.

... we decided to go to Indiana to get lunch.
