I love the rolling stones and I had a ticket offered to me at Fenway Park(where I am from) for $170. I just can't see spending that much on a concert ticket plus It's a six hour drive for me each way just to get there.

Geez, I'd hate to admit what I've spent to go to some of the Patriots' playoff games if some of you guy sthink 170 is expensive....

400 is definitely out there tho. Especially for the Stones. Blech.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

Just for the record, I would gladly spend a ridiculous amout of money for Patriots playoff tickets, or World Series tickets for that matter. :):D

They do put on a incredible show. I know I spent close to that the last time I saw them, worth every effing penny!

I saw them during their "Steel Wheels" tour in 1988, and even though they're not my favorite band, it was the best concert I've ever attended. They played 46 songs for about 4 1/2 hours. They are much better live, imo.
Even with all that being said, I would still have a hard time justifying $402 each ticket.

I would pay that, if John Bonham were resurrected, to see Led Zeppelin, without even batting an eye. :)

I saw "Steel Wheels" and then another one live not to mention a few on DVD. I'll tell you what, I enjoyed the DVD's on a projector way more than I did the live concerts.

Texas vs. Ohio State college football tickets are already selling for around $400 a ticket on ebay. The game is September 10th, only 33 days left, I can't wait! I won't be going, but I'll be on campus, should be a good time.

Back to the topic at hand, I'd probably pay a decent amount to go see Metallica open for the Stones in November. That would be a pretty good show.

Oh man, I just looked up tickets for the Stones concert at the MCI center. The cheapest was $180 with "limited view" up to $2700 for the 5th row. The average price seemed to be around $400 to $800. This is BS. I'd set up a nice 150" projecter first. I know my pay hasn't gone up this much since I used to pay $40 to $80 for a Stones or Pink Floyd show...

August '68, The Singer Bowl in Flushing, Queens. In order of appearance that night:

    The Soft Machine
    The Chambers brothers
Janis Joplin w/Big Brother & The Holding Company
    the Jimi Hendrix Experience

All tickets were $2.50, and you can't buy a bottle of water at a show for that cheap today.

November 1969, Madison Square Garden, $5 to sit in God's Country and see the Stones show which would ultimately become the "Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out" album. It was the night before my 17th birthday. Happy Birthday George.

George Grand (of the Jersey Grands)

Somewhere around or right before, or right after The Stones show, we went to The Singer Bowl to see one of Led Zeppelin's first North American appearances. The show was sold out, but you could hear pretty good from outside, as it was an open air amphitheater. No punches pulled, I learned to hate that guy Plant's "Nails on a Blackboard" voice and still do to this day.
