Hi,

I just inherited a Polk Audio Subwoofer. The model on the bottom say RM3000. It has 6 contacts; 2 (+/-) for a Left In and 2 (+/-) for a Right In and also a "blue" single contract. I've tried to find information on the PA site, but nothing. Can anybody help me with what I have and how to hook it up? I've got a Sony A/V Unit, a Carver, Technics, and Sansui amps, as well as some other equalizers, etc. Thanks.

    Go here:
    http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/products/rt3000p/
then look in the top right corner and click there to download the owner's manual in pdf format.

I tried to post a link straight to the pdf page of the manual, but for some reason I couldn't do it.

Hope this helps! Enjoy, that is quit possibly the best sub Polk has ever made to date.

Thanks marker. But the RT3000p is not what I have. It is a single subwoofer. With a little more research I have learned that there are satellites that go with it. I think I have those to but I didn't know they paired with the subwoofer. But I am still unsure of the proper connections. Thanks

I think this sub is a passive sub, meaning that it needs an ext amplifier to power it.
    Receiver: harmankardon AVR235
    Mains: polk R30
    Center: polk CSi3
    Rear Surrounds: polk R20
    Subwoofer: polk PSW404
    DVD: Panasonic DVD-S29

    Tony,

the proper connections to the RM3000 is in series from the amp. I used to have two pairs of these. So, run the wire from Amp output (L and R separately), to the sub binding post (+ and -), and then run a pair of wire to the satellite (L and R separately).

Check out the manual for RM3300 from the home audio section (archives of vintage speakers) since it is the only one available that I seen. Alternatively, PM a fellow member "LSi9", he bought a set from me, and he has the manual. Good luck!
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

    Thanks polkatese,

When you say run the sats separately, from the sub or from the amp? Thanks again.

Edit- see now where it is a rM3000 and not a RT3000p's sub. Sorry about that, my bad. :(
