Hard shielding - have you done it?

From my email exchanges with Polk, I would define "soft shielding" as bucking mags only, and "hard shielding" as bucking mags plus metal cups.
Has anyone ever hard-shielded individual drivers??
I've attached bucking mags, which helps, but isn't perfect. I want to build a center channel speaker but I can't get the placement I want unless I can shield better. I played around with attaching metal cups a few years ago, but couldn't decide what to use.. food cans? Find other metal bowls of some sort?? The metal cup shouldn't touch the metal speaker frame, correct? Shouldn't actually touch the magnets, either, correct? Would lining the cabinet (or part of it) with metal help at all?
The drivers in question are two 6.5" drivers and an SL2000.

I'm starting to read up on hard shielding myself. Search for the post by "Alex Rush" almost half way down this page. http://www.webervst.com/sptalk.html
"The only precaution you need to take is that you want to make sure your canister doesn't come in contact with both the back plate and the front plate that sandwich the magnet, which would cause a shunting of the magnetic flux away from the gap where it is needed."
From most of what I have read about using sheets of mu-metal for shielding in a TV entertainment center, it is less effective when placed by itself between the speakers and TV. It should be located either on the speaker or inside the TV. These folks say to call them for a solution (FAQ 13).

Have you considered building a small shelf above your TV for the center channel?
