A friend of mine uses a canadian version of this, yes it a good idea but what he has found and informed me of is that, he waits a long time for new releases, he just got finding never land 2 weeks ago.He is still waiting on movies I saw 1-2 months back. Not sure if this happens with all of them but just food for thought.

The longest I've ever waited on a new release with either company is a couple weeks.

I think I may be switchign to Netflix when my free Blockbuster trial is up.

So far, they sent me the wrong movie for two of the first three I got.

Then yesterday I got two copies of the SAME MOVIE, which I don't know if that means one of them is unaccounted for, or sent in place of one of the other two movies I was supposed to be sent (which should arrrive today). Not to mention that I'm on the "three at a time" plan, but because of hte first screwup I have FIVE movies currently being sent to me somehow. Which is a "good thing" I suppose, but still indicates a mess on their end.

I haven't even had it a week and I've had enough problems to make my head spin. Now they're jackin up the price before I've even paid.

Netflix is now the same cost as blockbuster, and I have a feeling I'm rarely if ever going to use the "in-store" coupons.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I assume they do that as a courtesy for when they mess stuff up, give you more than 3 movies at once - that way you're not waiting on them to correct their mistake and receive the incorrect movies back before you get what you originally ordered. I imagine this is done more for customer satisfaction than in error

It kinda sucks that BB is raising their prices.

I'll stick with them for now though because the extra coupons and fast shipping make it a good deal for me. Plus, as soon as I switch over to Netflix, they'll raise their prices also and I'll end up paying more than $20 a month.

If I do start having issues with Blockbuster though, I'll be less hesitant now to switch over to Netflix though, now that their prices are the same also.

This is just BB at their norm in my opinion. Its the same with them, "Just compete to get a whole bunch of customers, then when we meet our criteria, lets jack up the price because they are all sheep and we won't lose enough to hurt us any ways."

    Blockbuster is the dark force.

After their hostile bid to take over Hollywood Video, and thereby controlling the offline rental world,
which would allow them to charge whatever they want, I said no more.
The only thing I buy from them is previously viewed movies,
when they have the 3 for $25 deal going.

I have the NETFLIX basic, 1movie out at a time plan for $9.99 per month.
And if I'm on it, as far as getting them back in the mail the next day,
that buys me 8 movies per month.
DVD RENTALS FOR $1.25, now you're talking my language.

Last year I tried Walmart and NetFlix. Walmart shipped from one distro in Georgia I believe, and took a week to reach California. My .02 cents on NetFlix this past year:

NetFlix has never sent me a wrong movie.

I return on Monday, they mail on Tuesday, and I receive on Wednesday. Their local distro stocks 99% of the movies I have wanted to see. Only 4 movies took a couple days longer coming from other distros that had the movie in stock.
