The problem is this...
It now falls under every other manufacture website out there - BOOO.
The old site was VERY organized and very straight forward. No page after page of links to get to what you want. Why change THAT? That was the perfect design for a large scale site...
Other than that, I see no real issues - just harder to get things done.- Not Tom ::::::: Any system can play Diana Krall. Only the best can play Limp Bizkit. -
I like the look, the new lay-out and the ease of use, especially for someone new to the site great job !
-
I like the new design, dont' find it any more convoluted than the old one, and definitely a little more modern looking
One small problem I found - I'm using Firefox, and when I clicked on the "Speakers" link from the main page (brought me here the header (the top of the window, above "File, Edit, View, etc"... I'm not sure what that area is called... Title Bar?) , rather than saying "Speakers", had some kind of error message in HTML :
< br>< b>Warning< /b>: Variable passed to each () is not an array or object in....
Just FYI Otherwise, great job.If you will it, dude, it is no dream. -
Being a relative noob to the Polk community I don't want to ruffle too many feathers, but I'm trying to garner info about some of the older speakers (r15-r30- even my rti28s that I have) and compare things like original prices, size, etc. to the monitor 50 speakers I'm looking at. On the new page search "r30"- nothing. Same for "r15".
I want my ol' info back!!

Jim,
Thanks for your feedback. We've created a feature that searches through all older products, which can be found here:

Thanks!

You have only begun to experience the profound customer service and sense of community that polk audio has for it's customers. -
I think sid said it best though;Vr3MxStyler2k3 wrote::: What company do you know that has corporate individuals take part in major functions for a user forum? Polk does....let me know another and I'll certainly add it to the list. Do you realize the impact this active, grassroots, approach to community involvement has on us as a collective? Isn't it obvious? It's a RABID forum following, a RABID forum community and a RABID family enviroment to alot of us. Klipsch forum? DefTech forum? Bose forum? LMAO I'm sure you get the idea. If you have some data regarding facts contrary to the aformentioned statements, please submit them publically, otherwise take it in the **** and move along.
I personally have nothing against the K and DT as a speaker manufacturer but their respective forum participation is not at our level. ::
Aint THAT the effing truth. I hate about 50% of the DT fans I've met. Some of the most unsupportive bastages alive if you ask me. I guess I shouldnt be saying this considering I'm an admin at a DT board - but who cares right?
The big honchos at Polk & the fans (yall rock!) get my vote.
I wish I could go!!!! -
System showcase?

Justin we appreciate your hard work.. and not going postal at all the posts in here and complaints about the system showcase. Things take time.. and I like the new and improved look to the forums. Things take time to work out the bugs and fine tune this beast.
Keep up the good work. Feeback is always a good thing. Some people just are never going to be satisfied with anything. Props to you and the staff there.
Will we get to meet you at Polk Fest 2005?PolkFest 2012, who's going>?

Trying to find, or vintage products is way more difficult now. One must assume to look under support. This is a huge flaw IMHO, especially in this day and age of Ebay. Please install a quick link to a page with the pic of models. That was a great tool under the old site.
Otherwise, the site looks ok, kinda blah, but it loads fast (like the old design).Review Site_ (((AudioPursuit)))

Love the idea of all the links at the top of the page. I guess you call that the tool bar but its damn cool to be able to access home, car and everything else from any page on the forum. Before you had to go from the car side to the home side in order to access the home or car products page.
All in all, this new version is head and shoulders above the previous one. Long live progress and technology!polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

After a few comments like this, I realized there was a problem. But I think I came up with a solution:
I]insert technical web jargon solution that you'll probably fall asleep reading[/I
See! Now you should be able to use the normal "search bar" at the top to find older product pages.
As for the images, that's a great idea, too.
Thanks!

When sending PM's, I would prefer to check a box asking for a read receipt than to have the system assume that for every one I'd like to choose.
Otherwise, lookin really good J.

Justin thanks for the hard work, I would like to see Personal Avatars that we could use. Every other forum uses it, I would like to see Polk use it.

OK, this is nice to finally see but info is woefully incomplete and many of the pages have errors on them.
http://www.polkaudio.com/search/older_car.php
Also, there is no information on the previous dB line of speakers and subwoofers.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

Yeah, we had an intern take actual product literature and try to convert it into some useful information on the website. You can image that it's not the most urgent item at hand

Well, I can see that by the errors in the page! What kind of format is it in? Would you guys be willing to farm out some help? I have a good deal of info on products I own already. If all it is is building the pages for teh product info them I'm sure there are people around that can help build a few pages and email them to you for loading onto the web server. I'm sure that converting old specs and owners manuals to electronic formats wouldn't violate and proprietary/sensitive business information.Expert Moron Extraordinaire

Sorry if someone already mentioned this-- 'cause I didn't read through the whole thread--
I like the way that we can attach pictures and they show up as thumbnails, BUT, would it be possible to make them open in a new window when clicked-on? I keep closing them out and losing my place.
